Chapter 60

Last we left off, Mikaela, King, Gloxinia, Sariel, Tarmiel, and Derieri, followed by Gowther, managed to finally catch up to Estarossa, arriving at a sky theater to see Estarossa attempting to devour Elizabeth with his darkness. Though before he could succeed, Mikaela managed to swiftly blow the darkness away and save Elizabeth, allowing the others to attack Estarossa. Meanwhile, the assault force managed to get inside Meliodas's dome of darkness, only to be met by Zeldris, Chandler, and Cusack, leading into a battle between the demon trio and Merlin, Escanor, and Ludociel. While that was happening, we went over to Purgatory, where Ban encountered a black dragon, only to discover later on that it was Meliodas who quickly hugged Ban tightly while crying his eyes out, happy to see his best friend again.

We now see Meliodas and Ban sitting under a rock discussing what happened to them.

Meliodas: I've completely given up on going back. I honestly thought I'd never be able to get out of Purgatory at all, or see Elizabeth, Mika, you, or anyone else either. This is a real shock.

Said Meliodas before turning to Ban.

Meliodas: But why are you in purgatory anyway? Did Mister Ban the undead finally get taken out?

Ban: No, you idiot. Come on now; I obviously came here to find you and bring you back home.

Said  Ban surprising Meliodas.

Melinda: Wait a second. You know of a way back? Is that what you're saying?

Ban: uuuh.

Said Ban causing Meliodas to deadpan at him in disappointment.

Meliodas: Are you that stupid? You recklessly dove in here without knowing how to get back out again?

Asked Meliodas causing Ban to scratch his head in embarrassment.

Ban: Give me a break. What did you expect? I had no choice. I couldn't leave you alone in this crap hole.

Said Ban causing Meliodas to smile.

Meliodas: Guess it pays to have idiots for friends. Hehe

Ban: Haha.

That's when the duo proceeded to walk towards the edge of the cliff.

Meliodas: Well, we've got plenty of time to figure it out.

Ban: Yup, two heads are better than one. Let's do it.

Said Ban before he and Meliodas jumped down, but unbeknownst to them, an unknown creature was watching them from atop the cliff.

*Timeskip*

We now see Meliodas and Ban sitting behind a rock, hiding from the purgatory inhabitants.

Meliodas: There are two different types of creatures that exist in Purgatory: foreign creatures are the kind that originate from souls that fell here and end up becoming savages.

Ban: So like the monsters you and I turned into.

Meliodas: Exactly, and since they lose themselves in the process, they turn to dust after they die.

Said Meliodas as the creature leaves allowing him and Ban to get away.

The duo then makes their way to another creature.

Meliodas: The second type are indigenous creatures; they were born here and have substance. Their bodies have evolved to live and thrive in Purgatory's harsh environment.

Said Meliodas as he and Ban stared at the pink creature that was sniffing the area.

Meliodas: We can make clothes out of the materials we harvest from them.
