And the day came.
Simon knew she was nervous.

He did his best to hype her up but he was terrible at it. Mostly because he was probably even more nervous than her.
This interaction with Anderson the other day only showed him how little respect some male
soldiers had for female soldiers.

He was so ashamed that he used to think the same way.
That he underestimated her so much when she came to his team.

She was up so early that day.
She finally had her first class.
Teaching them some basics.
How it went around this base.
Simple things.
Doing some first impressions of the new recruits.
He knew she would be brilliant.
She had such an amazing knowledge of people.

Even though it was a bit hard because she always sees the best in people.
But maybe that was what the new recruits needed.
He knew a lot of new recruits were quitting.

They desperately needed new people.
The team decided to watch her first lesson to support her.
The lessons always were in the training rooms or on the fields so everyone who wanted could watch.

He sat on a bench with Soap and Roach.
König leaning on the wall next to them.

Close enough to see and hear everything but far enough away to not disturb.
They were lined up straight listening to Liz explain some ground rules.

She was amazing.
Her voice was confident and demanding but still so friendly and warm.
She had decided to gain a certain distance at first by starting to teach with her mask on.

There were 20 new recruits in total.
6 women and 14 men.

It was unusual.
Normally there were only one or two women.
Maybe it had made a round that Liz would be in charge this time.

He was sure that would encourage more women.
But sadly it also made some of the guys think they had it easy.
He noticed three guys on the end of the row who were just not listening and always chatting.
Seeing such disrespect made him furious.
He was sure she had noticed but was confused why she didn't do anything.

„I'm gonna beat this pricks ass if he doesn't shut up"

Simon growled to Soap.

„Relax I'm pretty sure she will sort them out. You know how feisty she can be"

Soap laughed slightly.
And Simon hoped he was right.
And he was.

At the end of a monologue where she was walking casually up and down the row she stopped in front of the guys.

„Alright Harlow could you repeat what I just said?"

The recruit tensed and stuttered.

„Yes of course you can't. Because you and these two idiots weren't spending any attention"

The whole row chuckled slightly.
The three were clearly embarrassed.

„So I'm not gonna repeat myself.
If anyone thinks they don't want to listen or make snarky little comments with their friends, go on do it.
But if you fail.
It's not my responsibility."

Simon didn't knew how this would get her far.
These boys wouldn't listen.

And he was right.
One of them spoke up.
This little disrespectful piece of shit.

„I thought you should teach us.
So you should repeat yourself when someone doesn't understand something"

Simon could clearly see her evil smile under her mask even on those distance.
