Talk

I thought the whole night about how I should talk to him.
But I had to.
As I got up he was already under the shower.
I got dressed and made us some tea.
I sat in the kitchen, staring at my cup.
He entered the kitchen with an unreadable expression.

„Morning love"

„Morning baby"

He gave me kiss and thanked me for the tea.
He was about to head out until he noticed that I wasn't following him.

„Did you forget something?"

He looked at me confused.

„Simon can we talk?"

His brows narrowed concerned.
He turned to me and sighed.

„Don't ‚we need to talk' me"

he said with a slight angry tone.
I looked at him confused.

„I'm not doing this shit right before a mission Liz"

he continued.
I tilted my head slightly till it finally clicked in my head.

„Oh my god Simon! I'm not breaking up with you!"

I said loud and looked at him shocked.

„You don't?"

„Fuck Simon no! Why would you think that?"

I asked slightly hurt.
He couldn't be serious.
He sat down next to me.

„Well I'm surprised for every day you don't break up with me. I would have never thought you would put up with me for so long.
I mean I'm grateful.
I love you.
But I don't think I'm a good person.
You could probably do so much better"

This took me by surprise.
I never knew he thought like that.

„Simon..."

I sighed and pulled him into a hug.

„If you don't shut up and stop thinking like that i will have to beat this thought out of you!
You are the best thing that ever happened to me.
I love you to death.
And I will never ever leave you!
I wanted to talk so that we don't break up.
I want to talk about the mission.
This won't be easy.
And I don't want you to worry all this much"

I forced him to look into my eyes.
I couldn't quite read his emotions.
He sighed and pulled me even closer leaning his forehead against mine.

„How the hell should I not worry?"

„Because we're a team.
You and me.
And the others.
We will make this. We will help these people. But.."

I sighed and took a deep breath.

„I know Wolf. He's unpleasant.
And he will try to provoke all of us.
But you can't listen to him.
And know that everything I say and do is to save these people.
It's all a lie.
An act.
Don't let your head fool you.
I love you.
And only you!"

I held his head right in my hands.
I felt tears in my eyes.
I realised how afraid I was.
Not because of the mission.
I was so afraid to lose him.
He looked in my eyes.
His gaze softened and he gently pressed his nose against mine.

„I try my best.
I trust you with my life darling.
You're everything good in my life.
I would never leave you. But I just can't promise not to worry"

I felt how some tears rolled down my cheeks.

„We all worry. But please don't think differently of me. Remember that that's not me.
I play a role."

he nodded slightly and wiped away my tears.
My voice was way more pleading than I intended it to be.
But I didn't cared.

I had to think about this the whole day.
At some point I had the question if it was the right idea to go to that mission.
But it was.
They needed help.
And I could help.
That's what I had worked for.
To make a change.
To save innocent people from such disgusting people like wolf.

Everybody asking me the whole day if I'm ok didn't made anything better.
After lunch I almost exploded in Roachs face.

„Oh my god yes I am ok! But I won't be if any of you asks me that again!"

I almost screamed.
I didn't wanted to scream.
This was unfair.
They just cared.
That wasn't me.
I breathed deep and almost cried as I saw Roachs sad eyes.

„Oh my god I'm so sorry. Really I didn't mean to..."

Everyone was looking at us.
Roach grabbed me and pulled me out of the kitchen.
He was always offended by everything so I expected him to scold me and be mad at me.
But he pulled me into a hug.

„It's ok. I won't ask again. But please promise that you talk to me or the others when there's something wrong. Ok?"

„Roach..."

„Promise!"

„I promise"

We made a pinky promise.
And he held it.
Nor he or the others asked again.
Even though they didn't really had a chance.
I had hid in my office.

I tried to distract my mind with paper work.
I stayed really late.
I had to be almost the last one on this side of the base. I didn't even noticed until it knocked.
I looked up and saw Simon standing in the door frame.

„Darling what are you still doing here? I know we agreed to stay in my room because we leave early tomorrow but this is not my room"

I looked up with a guilty smile.

„I just...I don't wanna think about anything right now. I feel so stressed out and we're not even there yet."

He closed the door behind him and walked behind me. He took off his mask and gloves.
He ran his hands through my hair and over my shoulders.

„As a very smart and absolutely beautiful woman once said to me. Don't worry so much"

I laughed slightly and leaned back laying my head against his belly.
He kept stroking my shoulders till one hand slipped around my throat.

I looked up to him.
He leaned down and gave me a long deep kiss.
His lips on mine made me forget everything.
He kept kissing me, his tongue exploring my mouth. His grip around my throat tightened which forced a gentle moan out of me.

I knew what he was doing and I loved him for that. This man knew how to get my mind off of things.
