I had told them over and over again.
They had to remember.
This was the most important part.

„Don't let your emotions guide you.
Don't believe any word I say in there.
BUT react as if you would believe it.
This is important.
I trust you and you have to trust me.
No matter what happens."

I repeated it over and over on the car ride to the coordinations Phillip had send me.
According to Alejandro it was an old factory building.

Seemed reasonable.
Enough space for soldiers and hostages.
In the middle of nowhere.
Seeing it as a professional this was a good decision.
Good for him.

Much to Simon's discomfort I hadn't put on my vest.
It was an act of showing Phillip I wanted to solve this friendly.
At least he should think this.

It wasn't a very long drive but it felt horrible.
I knew this clenching feeling in my stomach.
I always had it right before my missions.
The final outburst before my brain and my body got into the calm and calculated state.

A couple of miles before the factory a car joined us and guided us along.
As we arrived I inspected everything I could see.
Every guard, every wall, every door.

I memorised who was standing where.
It was important.

Two soldiers escorted us inside the building.
In a large hall were some cars, some large boxes and some tables.

Up front in the middle of everything was a large table. Leaning on it was Phillip.
I hadn't seen him or been this near him in years.
But his cocky grin gave me a lot of mixed feelings.

I once had loved this man.
I had imagined a future with him.
But definitely not this future.

Concentrate!

Every move and every emotion I showed were essential.
As soon as his eyes landed on me I shifted my face into a large warm smile.

His eyes sparkled at my smile.
I got him.
He believed it.

„Pumpkin. Look at you. I never thought you could get even more beautiful"

„Stop it Philly. You're gonna make me blush over here"

I laughed slightly.
I stopped at a respectable distance.

„So. I am here. You wanted to talk"

I crossed my arms under my chest.
What only pushed my boobs up.
He grinned and shook his head.

„I wanna apologise pumpkin."

I raised my eyebrows.

„Apologise? For what exactly? There's many to apologise in your position"

He laughed slightly.

„For the unpleasantries I brought you"

„Unpleasanties? Nice word for the fact that you almost succeeded to kill me"

He made a grimace.

„I never wanted to kill you. You know that. All I want is to have you back. Where you belong"

„Well this is certainly not the way Philly.
How should I love someone that I can't trust?
That sells my name for enough money"

I looked away in a dramatic gesture.

„I only wanted to scare you a little.
To show you that you're safer with me.
That only I can protect you."

„You should know me better Philly. You know this is not what I search for.
This is no love. This is obsession and control"

„Oh come on pumpkin. You always told me that you loved how ambitious I was"

„This is not being ambitious Philly."

I said in a playful tone.

„Holding hostages is the lowest of the low.
Innocent people.
You have seen what that does to people.
You have seen what it did to me.
I remember the night you promised me that you would do anything that no innocent person would have to go through something like that."

I looked up to him with sad eyes, slowly and barely noticeable coming closer.

„You broke that promise Philly baby"

He looked down at me.
I could visibly see the conflict in him.
He wanted to pull me towards him.
But he resisted this temptation.

„I did it for you. For us."

„No Philly. You did this alone for you"

I said sad and shook my head.
I stepped one step back.
I could see the desperation in his eyes.

I was so close.

„I can fix this. I can give you what you want"

He said in a way softer tone.

„And that would be?"

I looked back up to him laying as much emotions in my eyes as possible.

„I will let them go. No one was harmed. They can go with your team. If you stay. With me."

I looked back at my team.
I tried to make my look not too obvious.
They had to react in some way.

Phillip grabbed my chin and turned my head back to him.

„They're free. And it's just you and me"

„What the fuck!?"

„No!"

„We're not letting you go with him"

I heard my team protest behind me.
They had understood the situation.

„Baby please. Don't do this."

Simon's voice let my heart flutter for a second.
He was good at this.
It sounded almost real.
Expected that he would never call me baby.

„I can't let anyone get in danger anymore because of me. Take the people and go!"

I didn't stopped looking at Phillip.

„No! You can't do this!"

„Ghost quit it! She made her decision. She's rather with this snitch than with us"

Königs words hurted a bit.
Even if his whole tone told me he wasn't serious.

I didn't dared to look back.
I wouldn't be able to contain myself.

I stared in Phillip's ice cold blue eyes.
Everything about him made my body ache.

Think of something else.

Do it!

His face shifted into a warm smile.
For a second I saw the Phillip I knew.
The man that I had madly fallen in love with.
The one that would have protected me with everything he had.
The one I had seen a future with.

A warm smile crossed my face.

This hope in his eyes.

I felt like I had to vomit as he pulled me in a kiss.
He tasted like cigarettes.
His cheap perfume burned my nose.
I tensed up a little.

Think of something else!

He wasn't my future anymore.

Simon was!
My sweet sweet Simon.
The man that would protect me with every fiver in his body.
That would rather die than to hurt me.
All I could see was Simon's face in my head.
With his little smile and his scars.

I leaned into the kiss.
Letting my mind getting consumed by the thought of Simon.
I had to do this.
I had to win this.

I had to return to my Simon.
