Overestimated

I was up before everyone else this morning.
I hadn't slept much.

As I came back from the little bathroom containers they had arranged I walked past some soldiers.

They snickered in Spanish.
Something about women, and how useless they were. And what was on their mind what would be a better use for me.
I tried not to listen but my blood was boiling.

Around a corner I met Alejandro.

„Ah hermosa mañana bonita"

he grinned.

„Well wouldn't call it beautiful."

I said without thinking.
He raised his eyebrows.

„Ohh you know some Spanish?"

„Enough to know that you shouldn't call me bonita if you wanna live. And enough to know what Puta and Zorra means. End damn well what carne Fresca means"

I muttered annoyed.
He stopped my tracks by stepping in front of me.
I looked up annoyed but saw in his absolutely concerned face.

„What? Who said that?"

„Some of your soldiers yesterday and just a couple minutes ago."

His face shifted into anger.

„I'm not gonna allow such behaviour.
You're our guests and I know that especially you are a very skilled and experienced soldier.
I'm very very sorry. How did they look like?"

I was deeply surprised by his words.
I could clearly see that he really meant them.

„Well I think your teams wear different uniforms right?
Like team uniforms?
Yeah they all had this patch.
Ehm its black with two snakes on it. And they all had these slightly bleuish jackets"

He nodded.

„You're very good.
The uniforms are all very similar.
Not many people notice the differences.
I will take care of them."

„Thank you I appreciate that.
We don't appreciate such behaviour on our teams.
I teach recruits and already kicked two of them out because of such behaviour.
But I didn't wanted to intervene in your methods"

„Oh you don't. Believe me.
I thought I had tought them enough but seems like I have to refresh their memories.
You know what?
I got an excellent idea."

He grinned evil.

„Now I'm intrigued"

I laughed.

Not an hour later I stood in front of around 15 men.
All lined up.
Alejandro full on screaming at them in Spanish.

He talked very fast so I didn't quite catched all of it. Only something about that they were a shame to the military and something about being sons of goats.

Then he turned to me.

„And today you have the honour to be trained by our lovely guest"

My team came along.
They had probably heard the screaming.
Simon gave me an questioning look but I just winked at him and smiled.

I heard a loud groaning coming from the men.

„Alright serpientes. Today lesson is simple.
The one who can beat me gets the day off"

All of the man grinned and snickered.
My smile never leaving my face I made them get into a line.

Then I shouted in my best Spanish

(„alright who's first?")

All their faces dropped.
I pointed at a tall very tanned man.
It was the one that had called me fresh meat.

„You! First"

He visibly swallowed but quickly came forward.
He eyed me up and down and grinned.

„I don't wanna hurt you carina"

„Oh don't worry. I will be gentle and don't let all my anger out on just you"

I said with a bitter sweet smile.

I could see the hesitation in his eyes.
But he hid it behind his absolutely cocky behaviour.
He didn't even got up his defence.
Bad for him.

With one large step I was in front of him.
His eyes widened in shock but he had no time to react. I punched him straight into his uncovered face.
Which made him stumble back a couple of steps.

It was dead silent.

Everyone was staring at him in shock.
Blood ran down his face as he looked up.
His face now full of rage.
His stupid male pride was hurt now.

Good.

That was what I wanted.
Men that were hurt in their pride acted impulsive.

And he did.

He stormed forwards me and tried to grab me.
I dodged him with a simple kick so he landed on the ground.
I was smiling.
This was too easy.

„You should think twice before you call someone fresh meat the next time"

I huffed.
I was about to turn to the others as I noticed something.

This motherfucker wanted to fight serious.

With one motion I had my knife out and with another precise throw it landed in his shoulder.
He howled and fell back.
Everyone stared at the knife in his shoulder in shock.

„Ey!"

Alejandro yelled angry.
But I straightened my posture.

„And think carefully before you try to pull your gun on someone!"

I yelled now with pure disgust.
He rolled over in pain and everyone could see the gun he had dropped when my knife hit him.

Alejandro catched up to me.

„Oh my god I'm so sorry. I don't know what got into him"

„Don't apologise. It's not your fault he overestimated himself."

I smiled at him and patted his shoulder.
I turned to the others.

„So next time you feel safe and think you are better. Think fucking twice."

I turned around and walked back to my team.

„Oh and sorry for the damage."

I winked at Alejandro.

„What an idiot."

Soap snickered and laughed about the whining soldier.
I turned back around and shot him a stern look.

„Oh and make sure I get the knife back!"

„This bastard really thought he could pull his gun"

Simon muttered pulling me towards him.

„Are you ok?"

„Yes baby. I'm fine. He had no chance. He's to obvious about his actions"

I chuckled.

Since that day I heard no more bad words about me. Rather quite the opposite.
They seemed to praise me.
I found it quite entertaining.
They respected me.
That was all I wanted.
