Trap

Before any of us could react properly to the situation some of Wolfs soldiers stormed inside.

„Die hauen ab."
(they're leaving)

One of them said in disbelief.

„Fuck of course. Now he's on the run"

I huffed.

My blood was boiling.
I always had the hope that it would get easier when I finally knew who it was.

But this?

This made the whole situation just much more complicated.
I walked up and down on one spot thinking about ways to solve this.

I took no notice of anything around me until Simon grabbed me and stopped me from walking.

„Tell me. What's on your mind. Don't do this alone"

I stammered and words got stuck in my throat.
I took a deep breath and concentrated on his voice.

„Talk to me love. Throw words I don't care"

„He did it on purpose.
He also did this on purpose.
I don't know why but he is back on the hunt for me.
We won't find him until he wants to find us"

I mumbled out.
Then I looked over to Wolf.
He sat defeated on the desk and held his bloody nose.

„Alex!"

He flinched and looked over.
I could see the pure guilt in his looks.
This was supposed to be a game for him.
A way to piss off the cartel and make some money out of it.
He had never intended for it to be like that.
Especially not for me.

„He did contact you first right? It was not your idea?"

I walked over and towered over him.

„Yes I swear.
He contacted me a couple days before you guys arrived.
I don't even know how he knows.
He just offered me some information about you. I didn't knew anything about the other stuff please believe me Angel."

He got up and stroked some hair out of my face.
König appeared behind him like a shadow and grabbed his hand.

„Fass sie nicht an"
(don't touch her)

he growled.

„I'm really sorry. I don't care about this stupid town. They can have it. I'm backing up. Really.
Let me make it up to you. Let me help"

„Why would I trust you?"

I eyed him up and down.
It was weird seeing him so desperate.
So defeated.
He seemed to really regret it.

„I swear. On everything I have.
I have always respected you and your story.
You know that.
I wouldn't have harmed the people and especially not you"

I sighed deep and nodded to König that he could let him go.

„Alright. Please talk to your men.
Maybe someone has spoken to a shadow.
If anyone know anything I want to know. A name or location or anything. I don't care."

„Yes yes of course"

He hurried outside and started shouting his man together.

I turned back around and ran my hand through my hair.

„Well he has to be here somewhere"

Alejandro added.
I looked over confused.

„The signal.
The area is really dead.
As long as he isn't in a similar radius as our base he wouldn't be able to get such a stable video call"
