Gina's POV
Ricky and I broke up six months ago.

I haven't seen him once since.

I haven't talked to him once since.

I haven't gone on a single date since.

I haven't been fully content once since.

So today I sit in the park reading, something I due at least five times a week, occasionally four

And then I see him.

Ricky freaking Bowen.

"Ricky?" My voice cracked. I didn't mean to say it out loud, but it just came out.

In this moment I realized that I had finally been making progress, I'd finally gotten a little less attached to him. Then he showed up, and BOOM, I was right back where I started.

"Gina." His voice was the same. "H-how are you?"

"You want the 'we don't know each other anymore, so I'll just say good' answer, or do you want the honest one?"

"Honest." He said instantly.

I took a deep breath. "I miss you." I blurted suddenly. "Not our relationship, necessarily, but just our friendship, our conversations, just knowing each other."

He sighed, biting his inner cheek, and only nodding slightly.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Shoot." He asked, sliding down beside me.

"If the world was ending, would you come to me?"

"Yes." He said with no hesitation. "You're the most amazing person I've ever known, and I'd want to die in your arms."

"Why'd we break up?" I asked.

"Cause we fought a lot...?"

"Could we fix that?"

"I think maybe we could, Porter."
