I LEAN AGAINST THE WOODEN BRIDGE AND LOOK OUT AT THE SURROUNDING AREA. "Professor, can I ask you something?" Harry turns to Professor Lupin who turns to face him.
"You want to know why I stopped you facing that boggart, yes?" Lupin asks him. "I'd thought it'd be obvious. I assumed it would take the shape of Lord Voldemort."
"I did think of Voldemort at first." Harry says, looking out at the grass. "But then I remembered that night on the train, and the dementor." I recall the night in my brain. It wasn't the first time I faced such a beast. "Well then I'm impressed. That suggests what you fear the most is fear itself. This is very wise."
"Before I fainted... I heard something. A woman, screaming. Jupiter thinks it could've been my mother, the night she was murdered." Lupin hums. "Well dementors force us to relive our very worst memories. Our pain become their power." Lupin leans onto the wood.
"You know the very first time I saw you both. I recognised you immediately." This spikes my interest. "Not by your scar Harry, by your eyes, same with you Jupiter." Lupin looks at Harry. "There your mothers, and yours Jupiter, are your fathers." My eyes widen slightly.
"You knew my father?" He nods his head. "Your father was one of my dearest friends." He steps away, onto the other side of the bridge. "And Harry, your mother was there for me at a time when no one else was. Not only was she a singularly gifted witch, she was also an uncommonly kind woman."
"She had a way of seeing the beauty in others. Even, and most especially, when that person could not see it in themselves. And your father, James, on the other hand. He had a certain, shall we say, talent for trouble. James and Jupiter's father used to prank the entire school." I catch on to the fact he doesn't state my fathers name.
"A talent, rumour has it, they passed on to the both of you." He steps back over to us. "You're more like them than you know, Harry. In time, you'll come to see just how much." My chest burns slightly, and I walk away.

"Honeyduke's sweetshop is brilliant, but nothing beats Zonko's joke shop. We never got to go to the Shrieking Shack." Ron says and I eat one of the sweets Hermione brought back for me. She got me a whole bag full. "I heard that it's the most haunted building in Britain." Hermione says and I notice Harry seems a bit, tense, and left out.
I take a red lolly from the bag and put it into his hand. He looks down at it before giving me an appreciative look. The turning staircase slows and we see a crowd surrounding the Griffindor common room. "Whats going on?" Harry asks. "Probably Neville's forgotten the password again." Ron says, unaware Neville stands behind him.
"Hey." Neville says and Ron's older brother, Percy, the head boy, barges through the crowd surrounding the door. "Let me through please. Excuse me! I'm head boy!" He yells out and Ron's younger sister comes up to us. "The Fat Lady! She's gone!" She yells in panic.
I look at the torn portrait. Claw marks. I frown slightly. Professor Dumbledore comes rushing past us. He pushes up the torn canvas and traces the claw marks. "Mr. Filch. Round up the ghosts. Tell them to search every painting in the castle to find the Fat Lady." He turns around, locking eyes with me. I know what he's asking. I shake my head. I didn't do this.
Filch looks up at a painting. I look there as well and see the Fat Lady hiding behind a hippopotamus. "There's no need for ghosts, professor. The Fat Lady's there." He points and everyone rushes up the stairs.
"Dear lady, who did this to you?" He asks the woman, with leaves in her hair. She whimpers. "Eyes like the devil, he's got, and a soul as dark as his name. It's him, headmaster. The one they all talk about. He's here, somewhere in the castle! Sirius Black!" She yells before hiding behind the large animal.
"Secure the castle, Mr. Filch. The rest of you, to the Great Hall." I take a glance at Harry who stares at the Fat Lady. I nudge him slightly. He snaps out of his daze. "Come on." I say and he nods. We all walk to the great hall.

I lay on top of the dark blue mattress and stare into the ceiling, which portrays the night sky. I can't sleep. I sigh and pull the blanket closer to me and turn over to my side. I might as well try to sleep. I lock eyes with vibrant blue ones. Harry lies there, awake.
He looks at me and smiles slightly. I give him a small smile and hear someone walk inside. I grow my ears and listen to their conversation. "I searched the Astronomy Tower and the Owlery. There's nothing there." Filch says and more teachers say that they found nothing.
"I've done the dungeons. Headmaster, no sign of Black, nor anything else in the castle." Professor Snape says, strolling up to Dumbledore. "I didn't really expect him to linger." Dumbledore says, being careful not to wake any of the students. He walks forwards.
"Remarkable feat, don't you think? To enter Hogwarts Castle on one's own completely undetected?" Snape questions Dumbledore. "Quite remarkable." He responds. "Any theories on how he managed it?" Snape thinks Dumbledore let him into Hogwarts.
"Many. Each as unlikely as the next." Dumbledore replies and stops walking. I give Harry a glance and see a teacher walk past us with a lamp. I shut my eyes quickly. "You may recall, at the start of term I expressed concerns about your appointment of Professor..."Dumbledore cuts him off.
"Not a single Professor inside this building would help Sirius Black enter it." Dumbledore says sternly. I see him approaching us and I shrink my ears back to their normal size. "I'm quite convinced the castle is safe, and I'm more than willing to send the students back to their houses."
"What about Potter, and the other Black? Should they be warned." I frown slightly. We could be related. I think. We share a last name. I look at Harry and close my eyes as the men walk towards us. "Perhaps. But for now, let them sleep. For in dreams, we enter a world that's entirely our own. Let them swim in the deepest ocean or glide over the highest cloud."
I manage to fall asleep. Something I haven't been able to do since I killed my mother.
