I WAKE UP IN THE INFIRMARY, GASPING. I breathe heavily and sit up. "Jupiter. Are you alright?" Hermione asks me and I nod, panting. My stomach is tight and I see a thick bandage wrapped around it. I grab my wand from the bedside table and hold it over my stomach.

"Episkey." I mutter and my skin heals. I unwrap the bandage and slip on my jacket. "How long have I been out?" I ask Hermione and clear my dry throat. "About an hour. The dementors have captured Sirius, any minute they're going to preform The Kiss." I look to the side and see Harry lying in the bed beside mine. "Harry needs to know."

I push myself to stand. "Are you sure you should be standing?" Hermione asks me. "I'm fine now. Completely healed." I gently move Harry. "Harry." I whisper in attempt to wake him up. "I saw my dad." He tells me and I frown. "What?" I ask him. "I saw him across the lake. He sent the dementors away." I sigh.

"Harry, the dementors have Sirius, they're going to preform The Kiss." I repeat what Hermione told me. "They're going to kill him?" He shuffles to stand. "No. It's worse." I say to him and he scrambles to put on his glasses. "Much worse." Hermione adds and Harry looks at her. "They're going to suck out his soul." She says and the doors to the infirmary open.

Dumbledore stands there and walks inside. "Headmaster, you've got to stop them." I tell him. "They've got the wrong man." Hermione adds. "It's true, sir. Sirius is innocent." Ron moves in his bed. "It's Scabbers who did it." Ron tells him. "Scabbers?" Dumbledore asks. "He's my rat, sir. He's not really a rat. He was a rat. He was my brother Percy's rat-" I cut off his rambling.

"He's an animagus, sir. It's Pettigrew." Dumbledore nods his head. "Please believe us." Hermione begs. "I do Miss Granger. But the word of four thirteen-year-old wizards will convince few others." He looks between us and then walks over to Ron.

"A child's voice, however honest and true, is meaningless to those who have forgotten how to listen." Dumbledore pats Ron's foot and he lets out a hum in agony. The clock chimes and I lock eyes with Dumbledore. I know what I have to do.

"Mysterious thing, time. Powerful. And when meddled with, dangerous. Sirius Black is in the topmost cell of the Dark Tower. You know the laws, Miss Black. You must not be seen. And you would do well, I feel, to return before this last chime. If not, the consequences are too ghastly to discuss. If you succeed tonight... more than one innocent life may be spared."

He goes to walk away before turning back to me. "The turns should do it." He winks before walking away. He goes to leave out holds the door as it closes. "Oh, and by the way. When in doubt, I find retracing my steps to be a wise place to begin. Good luck." I lock eyes with Hermione.

"What the bloody hell was that all about?" I pull my silver time turner from beneath my shirt. "I'll stay with Ronald. You both need to do this." I nod at Hermione and give her a small smile. "Be safe." She says. I stretch the necklace and wrap it around Harry's neck. He goes to touch it out I stop him.

I turn it three times before moving my finger away and watching as it spins around rapidly. Harry looks around and sees how everything gets rewinded. The time turner stops turning and I pull it from around Harry's neck. I tuck it into my shirt. "What just happened? Where's Ron and Hermione?" He asks me. "Where were we at seven thirty?" I ask as I stare at the large clock outside of the Infirmary.

"I don't know. Going to Hagrid's?" I take Harry's hand and pull him with me. "Come on. And we can't be seen." I interlock our fingers and pull him along with me. "Jupiter. What's going on?" He asks me and we run through the courtyard and onto the bridge.

I hide myself behind the exit of the bridge and watch our previous interaction with Malfoy. "This is a time turner." I turn to look at him and push him gently against the wall, not to be seen, and pull the silver necklace from my shirt. "Dumbledore gave it to me at the start of school. He thought I needed more of an education since I was homeschooled. It's how I've been getting to my lessons all year."

I tell him and push the necklace back into my shirt. "You mean we've gone back in time?" I nod. "Yes. Dumbledore wanted us to return to this moment. There's something he wants us to change." I go to look at my last self and see me grab onto Malfoy as he went to run away and punch him across the face. "Good punch." Harry tells me, standing behind me. "Thanks." I see Malfoy run towards us and grab Harry's hand, pushing him towards the window leading to behind the bridge.

He jumps out first and then I do. We crouch and watch from a distance. I watch our past selves leave and quickly run over and hide behind one of the large stones. "Look, Buckbeak's still alive." Something clicks in my mind. "Of course. Dumbledore said if we succeed, more than one innocent life will be spared." I take his hand again.

"Come on." I say and we go down the path towards Hagrid's. I run and we stop behind the large pumpkins. I see Dumbledore, Fudge, and the executioner walk down the path. "Here they come. We better hurry." He goes to stand but I grab his hand. "Fudge has to see Buckbeak before we steal him. Otherwise he'll think Hagrid set him free." He nods and slowly moves back down.

I see Pettigrew and so does Harry. "It's Pettigrew." Harry glares at him. I take his hand. "You can't Harry." I say to him and he turns to look at me. "Jupiter, that man betrayed my parents, you can't expect me to sit here." Harry tells me. "He betrayed mine too. But we cant do anything. Any changes we do now, will affect what happens later. Messing with time has consequences." He sighs. I keep holding his hand. He squeezes it, slightly.

"Harry, you're in Hagrid's hut now. If you go bursting in, you'll think you've gone mad. We can't be seen." I pull Harry with me and we go around the pumpkins. "Fudge is coming. And we aren't leaving." I look at a small stone and recognise it.

I chuckle slightly before taking it in my hand and throwing it. It hits a pot and causes it to shatter. Past me looks outside at us. I duck and Harry does the same. "Are you mad?" He whispers out. I grab another rock and throw it, it collides into the back of Harry's head. The Harry beside me rubs the back of his head. "That hurt." He says and I notice Fudge walk up and knock on Hagrid's door.

I notice our past selves sneak out the back door. "We're coming, go." I say and we rush into the woods, hiding behind two separate trees. The past version of us hide behind the large pumpkins. I see myself from the back and slowly move to watch us. A branch snaps and I quickly move to hide behind the tree.

"What?" Past Harry asks. "I thought I just saw- never mind." The past version of me answers. The rush away and I let out and exhale. I move away from the tree and hide behind the pumpkins. I motion for Harry to go forward and he goes over to Buckbeak. Harry kicks crows away from his feet and grabs the chain Buckbeak is connected to.

I look around and grab the necklace of dead ferrets and hold them out to Buckbeak he follows us and we get away before they exit the building. I give the ferret necklace to Buckbeak and he eats them. We watch as the executioner's weapon slices a pumpkin in half.

We saved Buckbeak.
