THE DARK TUNNEL LEADS US TO AN OPEN TRAP DOOR. Harry gets out first before extending a hand and helping me up. I do the same to Hermione and we look around. "You were right." I tell Harry. "We're in the Shrieking Shack, aren't we?" Hermione asks us.
Harry takes my hand and leads us up the stairs. Hermione looks at mine and Harry's interlocked fingers and smiles, slightly. The wood of the stairs creak and I hear Ron shout. I pull my wand from my pocket and hold it out. Harry spots Ron and rushes over to him. "Ron! You're okay!" Hermione says and runs over to him.
"The dog. Where is it?" Harry asks and Ron points behind us. "It's a trap! He's the dog. He's an Animagus." Ron points behind us and I look at the muddy paw prints that lead up to a man hiding behind a door. The door closes and Sirius Black looks back at us. My Father.
I hold my wand out and wrap my arm to protect Harry and everyone behind us with the other. My hair flickers between crimson and plum. Fear and anger. "If you want to kill Harry, you'll have to kill us too!" I keep my hand still and Sirius shakes his head. "No, only one will die tonight." Harry pushes from my grip.
"Then it'll be you!" He rushes forward and grips Sirius by the throat. Harry pushes Sirius onto the floor and pulls his wand out, holding it to Sirius' face. "Are you going to kill me Harry?" The man chuckles. The door gets forced open and Harry's wand flies from his hand.
Lupin stands there and uses his wand to motion Harry to move. He stumbles over to me and I take his hand. I keep my wand tightly gripped and watch Lupin intensely. "Well well, Sirius. Looking rather ragged, aren't we?" Lupin has his want pointed at Sirius.
"Finally, the flesh reflects the madness within." Lupin says and Sirius chuckles. "Well, you'd know all about the madness within, wouldn't you, Remus?" Sirius only confirms my theory. Lupin lowers his wand before moving to help Sirius stand.
Sirius wraps his arms around Remus and I frown. "I found him." Sirius squeaks out. "I know." Lupin replies. "It's him." Sirius adds. "I understand." Lupin tells him. "Let's kill him." I stand protectively in front of Harry. "No! I trusted you! And all of this time you've been helping him!" I yell out and the men freeze.
"He's a werewolf! That's why he's been missing classes!" I continue and Lupin turns to look at me. "How long have you known?" He asks me. "Since I saw your boggart." I tell him. "Well, well, well, Jupiter. You really are the brightest witch of your age I've ever met." He compliments me.
"Enough talk Remus! Let's kill him!" Sirius interrupts. "Wait!" Lupin tells him and Sirius cuts him off. "I did my waiting! Twelve years of it! In Azkaban!" Sirius breathes heavily and Lupin looks at us before handing him his wand. "Very well. Kill him." Sirius snatches the wand from Remus' hand.
"But wait one more minute. Harry and Jupiter have the right to know why?" Harry speaks out. "I know why. You betrayed my parents. You're the reason they're dead!" I hold Harry's hand tightly, my wand still pointed. "No, Harry it wasn't him. Somebody did betray your parents but it was somebody, until quite recently I believe to be dead!"
