"THAT FOUL EVIL OLD GARGOYLE!" Hermione hisses out as she paces around in the Gryffindor Common Room. "We're not learning how to defend ourselves. We're not learning how to pass our OWLs. She's taking over the entire school." She rants out and I listen to Fudge's voice on the radio.
Harry turns around in his chair and turns up the volume on the radio. "Furthermore, we have convincing evidence that these disappearances are the work of notorious mass murderer Sirius Black." My hair spikes a bright red as my blood boils beneath my skin.
"Turn that daft thing off!" I grind my teeth together and lean back on the sofa with my eyes closed. I press my hand to my forehead and my cold rings cool the skin. My hair slowly fades back to its ebony black colour and I hear the fire crackle before my name is whispered like a gentle breeze through the room. I frown and move my hand as I open my eyes, staring at the fire as Sirius' face appears in it.
"Sirius, what are you doing here?" Harry asks him and I move from the sofa to sit opposite the flames. The warm fire burns my skin and illuminates it brightly. "Answering your letter. You said you were worried about Umbridge, what's she doing?" He asks, his gaze moving from Harry to me. "Trying you to kill half-breeds?" He chuckles slightly before I cut him off as a serious expression takes over my face.
"Sirius, she's not letting us use magic at all." I tell my father who sighs. "Well, I'm not surprised. The latest intelligence is that Fudge doesn't want you trained in combat." He tells us. Ron frowns. "Combat?" The ginger asks with a scoff. "What does he think? That we're forming some sort of wizard army?" He asks and Sirius nods from the flames. Of course Fudge does, he's a paranoid idiot.
"That's exactly what he thinks. That Dumbledore is assembling his own forces to take on the Ministry. He's becoming more paranoid by the minute." Sirius' gaze moves to me, I can tell he needs to say something. I take a glance around the room, casting a protective charm to stop anyone from listening in.
"The others wouldn't want me telling you this, Harry. Jupiter, I'd tell you anyway if you didn't already know, but things aren't going at all well with the Order. Fudge is blocking the truth at every turn, and these... disappearances, are just how it started before." He's returning, claiming back his power. With my mother on his side, helping him.
"Voldemort is on the move." My blood runs cold and the scar that I've hidden with my metamorphmagi ability burns. My hair turns a plum colour as my skin turns paper white. My heart pounds ferociously through my body and I twist the rings on my fingers to bring comfort to myself. I fear I know what he wants- no, I do know what he wants.
And I know what I need to do because it's the only way.
I don't want to do it, I don't want to. But I have too, and I don't want it to take me away from everyone.
