I actually like writing about Destiny. I'll probably write a few chapters in her POV.

"Can I sleep over at yours tonight?" I cry over the phone to Aaliyah.

"Of course! What's wrong?"

"My mother had one of those moments again and kicked me out." I say getting into my car with no shoes on.

I came home from hanging with Lyric and my mom just started blacking and kicked me out and didn't give me the chance to grab my shoes or any clothes. Good thing she has done this before and I have some clothes and a pair of clothes in my car.

"Destiny, you really need to get out of that house. You want me to come get you?" She asks, throwing on a hoodie.

"No, I'm on my way. I want a chance to process. The car ride to your house walls be good for me."

"Okay, I love you."

"Love you too." And I hang up the phone and start up my car.

My mom hasn't always been like this. It actually started a few months back. I don't know why. She went from a mother I could trust and depend on to this mean, disrespectful bitch. I just miss my mom. The woman she used to be. The mom she used to be.

I find parking on Aaliyah's street and walk to her door. I text her to tell her I'm outside.
She opens the door wearing an oversized shirt and shorts and a bonnet.

"Hey." She says, engulfing me in a hug.

"Hey." I say, squeezing her tight.

She always brings me comfort. She's the bestest friend any person could ask for.

"You parents in?" I ask, not wanting to walk in their house and not greet them.

"No, they on a date." She says, leading upstairs to her room.

"You got any pajamas I could use?" I didn't really think about pajamas when I packed this bag.

"Yes, I got you. And I even got some toiletries and the bathroom. You can sleep in the guest room if you need some space." Aaliyah says, passing me flannel pants and a shirt.

"Thank you some much. I think I want to sleep with you." I kinda need the comfort.

I get myself ready for bed and when I get back to Aaliyah's room she has our comfort movie on with snacks and in typical Aaliyah fashion she knows just what to do.

"Tell that bitch if she got something to say, say it to my face!" I yell across the room to Andrea.

This bitch just started bugging the fuck out over a class debate.

She got out her seat and stood in my face.

"I SAID yo momma..."

Before she could continue, I popped her dead in her mouth. Her head jerked back and she stumbled a little but regained her footing. By then the teacher was standing between us and trying to cool us down.

"Andrea, go to the nurse office and Destiny, you to the principal's. Andrea go first."

I wait for the little bitch to head out the door to go after her but my teacher escorts me out the classroom and makes Andrea in the nurses office before letting me go to the principal's. I walk like that's the direction I'm going but instead I head towards the exit. The security guards never doing they job so it's easy to skip.

I walk to my car and pull out the parking lot. Once I'm a safe distance away I turn up the radio station. I actually like listening to the radio when I'm not in the mood for music.

I cruise down the block until I find my way to Lyric's place.

I'm outside

Really?!
Come in
Doors open

I walk towards her door and nervously open the door. When Lyric turns to look at me, I almost stumble from how breathtaking she is. She's slim, darkskinned, beautiful smile, beautiful hair and an amazing smile.

"Destiny, aren't you supposed to be in school?" She asks, walking over to give me a kiss which I almost melt in.

"Yeah, I skipped." I say, placing my purse on her kitchen island.

"What's wrong?" She asks, placing down a plate of food.

"Nothing, I just needed a mental health day." I half-lie.

I really did need a mental health day but I also didn't want the school calling my mom and her coming to get me. It was just too much.

"Everyone needs those." She says and we silently eat lunch.

After we eat Lyric decides we're going out. I tell her I have nothing to wear. She says don't worry and we get in her car and drive.

"Where are we going?" I ask, looking out the window.

"To hell if we don't pray."

"That's not funny." I say smiling.

"And yet you're smiling." She says looking over at me and then back at the road.

I look down at my phone to see 12 missed calls from my mother and 36 messages. I look at Lyric and decide my mother could wait. A new message pops up.

Wanna come over?

"You blowing up." Lyric says, snapping me back to reality.

"Yeah, it's just my mother." I say smiling.

"If you need to call her, you can do that. I can pull over."

"Yeah, if you don't mind."

When she does that I step out the car and call Aaliyah.

"Hey, best!" She exclaims into the phone.

"Hey, boo. My mom might call. Please don't tell her anything. I'll talk to her eventually."

"Yeah, no problem. You okay?" She asks scrunching up her face.

"Yeah, I'm skipping today but I'll be back at yours later on tonight. We can do something."

"Okay, love you."

"Love you." I hang up and walk back into the car.

"Everything good?" She asks, pulling off.

"Yeah." I say putting on my seatbelt.
