CHAPTER SIXTEEN ; JAIL BREAK
season 2 episode 7
———

FINALLY, SELENE PULLED THE PHONE OUT. She was expecting to see Sam or Dean's name, but to her surprise...it was the police station. Selene hesitated for a long moment before ultimately answering and bringing the phone to her ear. Wasn't long before a voice quickly sounded,

"Selene, hey—It's uh, Sam." Sam said through the phone, his voice hushed and low, "Something's come up."

"Sam, why are you calling from the station?" Selene asked, standing on her feet immediately. Quickly walking away from her moment of peace towards the motel.

"They arrested me and Dean." Sam told her what she could have guessed, Selene shook her head even though Sam couldn't see it. "Karen's dead, found Dean over the body. Saw us breaking into the office on the tapes."

Selene sighed, unsure of what to do in this situation. When she said that she didn't want to be the one getting taken she didn't mean that she had to be the one saving these boys. "I'm heading to the motel, I'll—"

"No, Selene the cops arrested me there. They're looking for you—they think I'm calling my lawyer." Sam told her, and Selene stopped her movements because just like that. She saw the cop car lights down the street around the motel. Selene's breath hitched in her throat, and she quickly turned around on her heels and walked in the other direction, "I'm telling you to leave, find the Impala and go. We'll catch up."

"No way, I can help." Selene tried to tell him, but Sam quickly objected. Knowing that pretending to be an FBI or anything like that to citizens was one thing, doing it to the actual police was another. But this is what she wanted, a chance to prove herself as a hunter. "Sam, I got this—trust me."

Before Sam could object further, Selene hung up the phone. Stuffing it in her pocket, as she took a deep breathe. For Sam and Dean, she'll push these feelings down for the time being, there's nothing she can do about it now so she might as well get this done and over with. Then she can deal with what she has to do. So, that's why Selene stuffed the book into her bag and tried her best to ignore the feeling of it all.

Selene took the long way towards the motel, taking the ally ways to remain hidden from police. As she approached the motel, she could see the police lights surrounding it. Selene remained hidden behind a building, she had to get inside around these cops or else she would end up in jail with Sam and Dean.

In that moment, she practically heard the book on her back talking to her—calling out to her to help. Selene listened, for a moment, she even started to reach behind her. There was definitely a spell in there that could get Sam and Dean out of jail, that could solve all their problems.

She couldn't do that though, she couldn't give in—not already. She was stronger than that, the Winchester's have shown her that she can be stronger than that. She didn't need book's powers, not now at least, she had her own.

Selene let her eyes glow red, as she astral projected herself out into the main street. Looking around at the few cops that surrounded her motel room, although it wasn't as many as Sam made it out to be. It was just two of them, simply two. Selene can do this, she doesn't need a book to get into that room.

So, when Selene returned to her body. She physically walked out into the street, the four cops standing outside the room looking down at a photo—most likely a photo of her from the security cams.
