CHAPTER TWELVE ; BLINDSIDED
season 2 episode 6
———

SELENE'S CREEPS HER EYES OPEN, letting in the morning light as she attempts to shield it with her arm. Rolling over in the bed she had slept in, and came face to face with a sleeping Sam. Selene couldn't barely keep her eyes open as she started to shake his arm, earning a low groan of annoyance from him.

"Go get coffee." Selene told him in her usual tired voice, but Sam simply rolled his head over and ignored her. Making her shake him harder, although still was very weak. "I did it last time, your turn."

Sam groans slightly, then she felt the weight from his side of the bed get up. Sam was a morning person, but in the few seconds it took to actually get out of the bed were the worst. As where Selene, hated the mornings, only with the Winchester's did she have to get up at the early AM.

Selene knows that work has to be done, she wishes she could just stay in this bed forever. It wasn't like the crappy motel beds that had, it was more comfortable and soft like a cloud. Surprising for a cheap apartment like this but very needed for the job they have.

Suddenly, Sam brought down a pillow on her head. Hitting her with slight force to get her up, knowing how deep of a sleeper she can be. When even the pillow barely fazed her, only made her mumble out some curse words at Sam, he then had to grab the blanket and pry them off of her. Exposing her in her sleeping shorts and t-shirt. The cold air hit her and she whined out at it, trying to cover herself up but Sam refused her.

"Screw you, Winchester." Selene cursed him as she finally sat up, and Sam dared to snicker a bit at the mess of her hair. Strands of red hair sticking up and matted at the back, creating a little rat nest of hair.

"Got about thirty minutes before we get to work, maybe go shower." Sam suggested, and Selene rolled her eyes tiredly at him as she rolled off the bed. Sam patted her head twice as he then mumbled, "Good morning, Lena."

"Don't." Was all Selene could say before she stepped around his large build and into the bathroom. She said her goodbyes before getting herself ready for the shower as Sam went out to get coffee and Jo and Dean who were still sleeping.

It was about fifteen minutes before Selene was done, now she felt refreshed and awake, only needed coffee. The room was steamy and the mirror was fogged up, Selene reached forward and wiped some of it away—revealing herself in the reflection.

Selene never spent long looking at herself, in fact she avoided the mirrors all together. Especially recently, Selene couldn't look at herself without feeling a mix of emotions. Guilt, anger, sadness even disgust. All sorts of nasty feelings, she felt like a stranger to herself unsure of what she was even doing here.

In the beginning she was confused as to why Yellow eyes wanted her to protect Sam, now she knew that that was probably bull crap because he just wanted to test out his little experiments that is Selene and Sam. Knowing that didn't want to make her stay here, part of her wanted to run as far away from Sam as possible, because she knew that whatever evil ran through her was running through him. Selene didn't know what that meant for them, if it meant two wrongs make a right or if they will be hell on earth—all she knows is she doesn't want Sam anywhere near it.

But no matter how much she thought about leaving, she couldn't—even if she wanted to. This connection, it kept her with Sam unable to willingly leave. On top of that, her brother's life rested in the balance.
