CHAPTER FORTY-SEVEN:
A LITTLE SIN NEVER HURT NOBODY
season 3 episode 4
———SELENE, DEAN AND BOBBY were all working together to try and figure out what is it that makes the Colt gun tick. If they can figure that out, they can use the gun on the demons they are hunting, since they weren't sure how many more big bad demons were out there.
Sitting next to Bobby at the desk, she watched the old man take apart and put together again the gun over and over. Bobby had been teaching her everything he already learned, the two of them were taking a closer look at it as Dean sat at a separate table and was attempting to make more bullets.
They had been hard at work for a few days while the boys demanded Selene take a break, just rest and gather herself. Spending time with them without the pressure of hunting truly helped, she felt more calm and more at one with herself. She didn't feel like she was going to crumble under the pressure any second.
That's when Sam walked into the room, holding two cups of coffee as he approached Selene. Placing her cup near her on the table, as he kept the other one for himself. Selene reached for it and took a nice long sip, letting the warmth and flavour melt on her tongue. She hums in delight as she places it back down on the table—not even fazed as Dean reaches for it as well, welcoming himself to a sip.
"How're you feeling today?" Sam asked as he leaned against Dean's table, taking a sip of his coffee as his eyes reminded on Selene and her task.
Selene sighed as she put down the pieces of the Colt she had in her hands, as she states, "Better, I'd say I'm back to normal but I don't really what my normal is...so, I'm just better." Sam laughed a little at that, it felt good to hear her making jokes again. Because Sam could just feel that she truly was feeling better lately, he could sense her contentment when she walked into a room.
"Think you're up for a hunt?" Sam questioned, making Dean and Selene lift their heads up to him as he explained, "Reese called, said she could use a hand on this case she was working."
Bobby nodded his head, still not bothering to look up just yet as he explained, "Yeah I sent her on that, there was a few omens a state over. Dry lightening, barometric pressure drop. Seems like some guy blew his head off in a church and another goes postal in a hobby shop before the cops take him out."
Dean shrugged a little as he pointed out, "Could just be a suicide and a psycho scrapbooker."
"I'd be happy to go check it out, the longer I stare at this gun the more I want to use it on myself." Selene states, which earned a side ways look from Bobby. As if he wasn't pleased with her, which caused her to add, "Only joking. I would never."
Selene turned back to Sam and Dean, shaking her head a little confirming that she was in face not joking. The two boys just snicker a little at this, and she matches that—it felt good to just innocently laugh again. For real.
Bobby then speaks up again saying, "You three should go, somebody with more than three braincells combined should stay here and figure this out." The three of them aren't even offended by this, they know that they truly haven't been much help. Selene asked to many question for Bobby to really focus, and Dean was constantly humming.
"Man, I'll tell you, it's sad seeing the colt like that." Dean states, staring at the picked apart gun as Selene stood from her seat. Moving around to stand behind Dean, draping her arms over his shoulders as she leaned her head against his. Dean grabbed her arm and held onto her as he leaned back a little.
