CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN : TWO HALVES MADE WHOLE
season 2 episode 22
———

STANDING ALONE IN THE EMPTY ALLEY WAY, Selene couldn't help but wrapped her arms around herself. Using the wall she hadn't moved from to keep herself stable, it felt like she had failed all over again, she can't even get yourself killed properly.

"Well, that was just tragic." A familiar dark voice spoke up, making Selene jumped out from the wall as she looked down the opposite direction that Dean went in. That's when she saw him, in the shadows she saw the glowing yellow eyes.

"You fucking perv," Selene spat at him through disgust, dropping her arms to her side to appear as dangerous as she was before. Before she was with Dean, before he tore down her walls and left her to bleed out. "Finally grew a pair to come and get me yourself, I see."

Azazel chuckled slightly at this, as he stepped further into the light to expose all of himself. Selene's body tensed now that she was finally seeing him, all she's done is run from him and in her one moment of weakness—he caught up.

"I am so sorry, if my demons were a little aggressive, but seems you had all of that under control." Azazel spoke as if he was mocking her, "But I have to say, you've impressed me Witch, for a moment I thought you really did go dark side, which would've made my job a lot harder."

Selene clenched her jaw, she knew that if Azazel thought she was dark side, he wouldn't come near her because she would've be powerful enough to stop him. Because if she went dark side all on her own, it meant she was an untamed monster—which isn't what Azazel wants. He wants to have her on a leash, his leash, and the only way he can do that is by turning her himself.

"But after all that, I gotta say—you put on a great show," Azazel stepped towards her, slowly clapping his hands together as he applauded her for her performance. This his face changed, and he had a serious expression, "Selene, I can see that you're hurting. I mean, you lost your other half, quite literally. That's not an easy thing to bring back, but I can help you heal. I can make all that pain go away, you'll never have to feel this grief again."

In Azazel's eyes, he looked at Selene and her face twisted up as she was in deep though. In his mind he thought she was considering it, thought she was actually thinking about taking away the pain.

Although the thought did cross her mind, the pain had been so much that she even begged Dean to kill her. But that wasn't what had her mind reeling, it was Azazel's words—'not an easy thing to bring back'

Selene repeated two of those words in her mind again and again, 'bring back...bring back' Selene felt like an idiot for not thinking about it before, she had been so focused on the fact that Sam was gone and that without him her whole world was crumbling. She was so focused on her mistakes and what led to those moment, but never did she think about fixing it.

Bringing Sam back. She should've done that weeks ago, she had the power, she had the book. Everything she needed was in her possession, and that's all thanks to Azazel.

Selene stepped forward, a smirk plastered on Azazel's lips as he thought he was winning. That was until Selene's face changed, a smile so big it spread across her lips, it didn't look like the face of a grieving person.

"It's my pain that's reminding me of who I am. You want to get rid of it so you fill the emptiness with darkness, and we both know you will." Selene told him, a pitiful laugh fell from her lips as she realized that there was no more denying what will happen. Azazel will get what he wants, and Selene can't stop it, but she can slow it down.
