CHAPTER FIFTY: LIFE IN THE BUBBLE
———"SO, I THINK I CAUGHT WIND OF A DEMON A FEW TOWNS OVER." Reese told the three hunters along with her sister. She had just walked out of the bathroom, already dressed and ready for the day as she was ready to go. Selene and Dean both laid in bed watching the TV that was playing some old black and white movie. "I was gonna go check it out."
"Reese, it's meant to be our one day off. We were gonna spend it together." Selene reminded the woman who was already throwing a few supplies into a bag, in case there really was a demon a few towns over.
Reese raised a brow at the red haired girl in bed, "You want me to stay here so we can watch movies and eat fast food? We do that everyday." Reese had a point, they've been on the road together for nearly a month now. Just travelling together, catching a few demons here and there nothing serious.
But, they had a lot of downtime when trying to hunt down the demons the Winchester's let out. they've spent mostly everyday together, if anything—Reese would be thrilled to spend her day off alone.
"You guys good to watch Alison?" Reese questioned, mainly looking at Selene—but of course Dean was the one who gave her a thumbs up first.
"We're professional babysitters." Dean told her, making Selene just laugh slightly.
Alison finally lifted her head up from her journal, the one she had been writing in the whole time while sitting at the table next to Sam. But as she opened her mouth to say something, she looked at Sam—who was nose deep in a book. Suddenly, an idea came to her mind, and she smirked widely.
"I think Sam should go," Alison states randomly, making everyone look over at her. Even the giant in the chair, just as Alison put her hand on Sam's shoulder, giving him an encouraging squeeze as she added, "You've been inside reading for days, it'll be good for you."
Glancing over at Selene and Dean in bed, both of them were holding back their impressed grins. Knowing exactly what it is the teenager was doing. Dean would've done the same thing.
This just made Reese roll her eyes playfully at her sister's attempt at match making. Although Sam seemed to still be oblivious. Reese only said in response, "I'm hitting the road in two minutes, if you're coming you better hurry up, Winchester."
With that, Reese had grabbed her back and jacket and walked out the door. Sam turned to look over at the girl, as he pieced together finally what it is she had done. This made him smile slightly as he said to her, "I know what you're doing."
Alison shrugged harmlessly as she just plopped down onto the chair once again, lifting her book up and acting as casual as she could be, "I have no idea what you're talking about."
Sam just stood up from his spot, grabbing his jacket from the back of the chair. But before leaving, he reached a hand over and messed up her nicely done hair, a routine the hunters had figured out she had. Alison spent about an half an hour every morning on her hair, and hated when it got messed up.
Alison swatted his hand away, and shoved him away. Sam just laughed at this as he made his way out the door. Saying his goodbyes to his best friend and brother. Then, he stepped outside just as Reese was getting inside her truck. Throwing her bag into the backseat.
Getting into the passenger side of the truck, Reese eyed up Sam almost impressed that he actually came. The tiniest hint of a smirk on her lips that she hide the second Sam looked over at her, that's when she told him, "You don't have to come if you don't want it."
