CHAPTER FORTY-ONE: A FEW NEW FACES
season 3 episode 1
———

OUTSIDE THE MOTEL DOOR, Sam stood there after softly knocking on it. Yet, after a decently long moment, there was no reply. So, again Sam knocked a little louder as he asked, "You guys conscious?"

Again. No response. If it had been for any other reason, Sam would've left it alone. But this was a little bit more important, plus—Bobby wasn't the most patient guy, especially when you keep him waiting.

In his mind, they've been in there for a while—if something were to have happened it would've already. Sam gave them almost the entire day alone, on his brothers request. So, he was sure that they must've been sleeping and that's why he figured he'd just go and casually wake them up.

Sam grabs the door handle and twists it, pushing it open slowly. It happened so quickly but at the same time in slow motion, Sam poked his head into the room. Even though he could now hear it, his brain didn't process it. Not until he fully saw what was happening.

There they were—Selene and Dean. Selene was sitting on Dean, who was laying on his back on the bed, and all Sam saw of Selene was her vibrant red hair moving along with her and brushing over her bare back. Watching as she bounced and rocked up and down on Dean, who had his hands gripping her waist, although they were moving towards her exposed ass.

The sounds that left both of them burned his ears, and he wasn't sure what he wanted to cover first—his ears or his eyes. When Sam processed what it was he was looking at, he couldn't help but shout, "Oh my god!"

Selene's head turned around to face him, her eyes filled with a terror at the sound of Sam's voice as she even repeated his words in shock of her own, "Oh my god, Sam!"

Dean's eyes shot open in shock and hurt, not expecting to hear his brothers name fall from Selene's lips in such a scream. "Did you just—" That's when Dean tilted his head up a little and caught sit of his brother standing in the doorframe.

Dean acted quickly, reaching up and wrapping his arms around Selene and quickly flipping her onto her back to cover her with his own body. Selene managed to grab a blanket and cover Dean's bare ass. All while Sam just covered his eyes with both hands like a child.

"I'm sorry—I'm so sorry. Bobby called and I—I'm sorry." Sam rambled a little, only being able to only process the words 'I'm sorry'. Selene and Dean shared a look, she looked up at him over top of her and couldn't help the smile that crept to her lips. As much as this was unfortunate for all of them, it was almost funny.

"Yeah, listen Sammy, wanna give us a minute?" Dean asked, glancing over his shoulder to look at his brother. Selene grabbed onto Dean's shoulder, holding him close against her not for pleasure but in order to keep herself covered.

Sam started to profusely nod his head, "Yeah, right, sorry." That's when Sam turned around, trying to rush out of the room but with his eyes still covered he wasn't able to see the wall that was right in front of him. Causing him to hit his head with a loud thud, he made a little noise as he did so.

This made Dean turn his head back to Selene, nuzzling into her neck to muffle his laughter as Selene did the same. Both of them biting back their outbursts, and when Sam finally left the room, both of them laughed a little together.

It felt right, to be here laughing, wrapping in each others arms. Only feeling the weight of each other, not the rest of the world, not the consequences that their actions had caused but instead—just being here together. In this moment.
