CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX ; THE DOLLHOUSE
season 2 episode 11
———

SAM'S FRIEND, AVA, HAD GONE MISSING, and Sam was really beating himself up about it. She was another of of those psychics, like Sam. When they went to check on her after the hospital, her fiance had been murdered and she hadn't been seen since. Selene had even tried to use her magic, using the spell she's used to track Sam with the engagement ring but ultimately failed. Since the spell didn't work it thankfully didn't cost her soul.

But it didn't make her feel better, since nothing came up when she looked, it could only mean one thing. Ava was dead. Yet, Selene couldn't bring herself to say that to Sam—she also couldn't explain how she knew that. The upside to this whole thing for Selene, was that Sam was too distracted in his search to confront Selene about the truth.

Maybe it was the small parts of Selene's soul that she was giving up, but she really couldn't care for this Ava girl. Of course she cared a little because Sam cared so much, and that was the sole reason she was trying so hard—was for him.

It's been over a month of them searching for her, Sam tried everyone he knew if they saw or knew anything. Ellen being one of those people that he called, unfortunately she didn't have any information on Ava—but she did have a case for the three of them.

A hotel in Connecticut that had two accidents in the past two weeks, a lady drowned in a bathtub and then a guy falls down the stairs and his head turned a full 180. So currently, that's what the three were doing.

They pulled up to the hotel, which wasn't a common hotel—it was a very large very victorian looking house. Selene was in near awe of it as Sam opened up the Impala door for her, allowing her to slide out.

"Dude, this is sweet. We never get to work jobs like this, old school haunted houses, you know? Fog, secret passageways, sissy British accents." Dean spoke up as they all got out of the car, out of habit slipping his hand into Selene's as they reached each other.

"Kinda like an episode of Scooby-Doo." Selene pointed out, and the second she said it Dean stopped walking. His hand in hers being the reason she stopped walking, looking back at him with a raised brow.

Dean, looking at her in awe said, "Marry me already?" Selene just laughed as she shoved him playfully, knowing Dean's deep obsession with Scooby-Doo. Selene went to walk away with a smile but Dean pulled her back by his side and kissed the side of her head.

"You guys are gross." Sam commented on their behaviour, that has increasingly gotten more and more...romantic. Since they said I love you to each other, it's like they're on a honeymoon. They've even gotten separate motel rooms recently, giving them space. Sam was too distracted to care about them, but when he was stuck in close quarters with them it made him feel like a little kid who hated watching his parents kiss.

In this case, it was his brother and best friend.

As they are walking up the stairs, Sam stops as he points out an odd looking symbol. It's like an X with dots between the lines, Sam was the first to notice as he said, "That's a quincunx. It's a five-spot."

"That's used for hoodoo spell work?" Dean asked.

Selene nods her head, "With a whole lot of blood weed you got yourself a powerful charm."

Dean glances around as he then says, "Yeah, but I don't see any blood weed."

Which was true, Selene didn't see anything like blood weed or anything close to it, just a normal garden. So, the three went inside the building, stepping into the large mansion style home. The victorian style outside matched the inside, and Selene tasked it upon herself to walk around while the boys got the rooms.
