[08] cruel joke

CHAPTER EIGHT ; CRUEL JOKE

"GET THE GUN." Dean told her, and that's what she did. Selene opened the glove box and pulled out the gun. As she went to hand it to Dean he shook his head, he wanted her to have it—he needed her to have it. Selene kept it under her thigh as they watched Andy walk up to the driver's side of the door.

"Hey," Andy greets them at the window, looking the car up and down with an approving nod, "This is a cherry ride."

"Thanks," Dean gives a small nod then turns to look at Selene who simply shrugs. Unsure of what is happening, Selene looks over at the man in the window who seemed to be very friendly. She didn't feel threatened by any means, she was simply confused because he didn't look like a killer.

Andy says, "Manual '67, Impala's best year if you ask me." Andy runs a hand along the window, admiring Dean's priced possession.

Dean's shoulders seemed to relaxed as he realized that the guy just wanted to take about his car, which Dean could do all day long. So, Dean subtly reaches over without Andy noticing and puts his hand over Selene's and pulls her hand off the gun. That's when Andy looked over, and instead of pulling away Dean kept holding Selene's hand to avoid suspicion.

"Yeah, well, you know I just rebuilt her. Can't let a car like this one go." Dean gives a friendly laugh, running his other hand over the steering wheel with a smile.

Selene forced a laugh a bit, feeling very aware of the way Dean's hand interlocked with hers. The way his finger's grazed her skin and that it was like two puzzle pieces fitting together and it made her extremely uncomfortable.

But to cover up her tenseness, Selene jokes, "Boys and their toys." Which both of the boys chuckle slightly at that, nodding their heads and agreeing with her.

"Yeah, damn straight." Andy agreed, then turned to look Dean in the eyes and very casually asked, "Hey, can I have it?"

Selene was taken aback by the question, and was confused on why he would even ask that—but her mind was blown as Dean agreed to it without missing a beat. He even seemed happy to do it, just handed over the Impala like it was nothing.

That's why Dean slipped out of the car, and offered it up for Andy to get in. Selene acted quicker and slide over into the drivers seat while she tucked the gun into her jacket to hide it.

Now that Selene was blocking Andy's path, she looked at Dean with wide eyes, "Uh—Dean? What are you doing? Sorry buddy, but you aren't taking her."

Andy didn't seem fazed by this as he now looked her dead in the eyes and said, "I think you want to join your lovely boyfriend over here,"

Something happened to Selene, because now that she really thought about it she did want to join Dean who mindlessly put his hand out for Selene to take. Dean aided her out of the car and once she was on her feet, her arms wrapped around his torso as she hugged his from the side. His arm going over her shoulders to make it more comfortable as she nuzzled her head onto his chest.

Then, Andy slips into the car and closes the door. They watch in enjoyment as Andy feels up the car and gets ready for a ride of his life. Before driving off, he nods his head at the two, "Alright, thanks guys."

The two hunters watched as the man drove off with the Impala and their only mode of transportation. For a few long seconds, Selene and Dean stayed in the position. Holding each other lovingly for a minute longer as they are slowly starting to come to terms with what just happened.
