CHAPTER FIFTY-SIX: A GIRLS NIGHT OUT
season 3 episode 8
———

THE GIRLS APPROACHED THE HOUSE ONCE AGAIN, the boys had called and messaged them a few times but they replied they were doing some investigating of their own. They'll call when they have something, of course they already did have something. Part of Selene wanted to let the boys know, but the other part of her was too high on the thrill of doing this alone. Reese felt like a bad influence, but in the best way.

They approached the front door, Reese picked the lock as Selene held their evergreen stakes, the ones that will be used to kill their monsters. When the door was opened, Selene passed her a stake, and slowly and quietly they approached the house. Sneaking into the dark and almost abandoned house, it felt empty and eerie as the searched it. Looking for any clue that it was actually them. They just had to be sure.

As the entered the kitchen, the smell of baked goods filled their nose. A platter of home baked cookies and biscuits filled the table, and they looked and smelt delicious. Seems that Selene had a bit more self-restraint to it, as Reese was the one who reached forward and attempted to reach for one of the freshly made cookies. Selene slapped the other girl's hand away from it, and Reese dared to glare at her as if she was deeply offended.

But that look quickly went away as Selene pointed towards the basement door that was cracked open, quickly Reese forgotten about the cookies as they neared the door. They crept down the stairs, and the environment down there had felt much different than up there. Upstairs was decorated head to toe in Christmas decoration, now here lacked any sort of joy.

In the basement they found plenty of evidence that they were hunting the right ones, as they find a pile of blood and bones and what seemed like a meat crusher. Selene nearly gags at the smell in the room, seeing it made her stomach turn. As Reese was approaching a red sack hanging from a hook, Selene watched as she poked it with the stake—that's when it jolted and moved.

Inside of it they could hear a man screaming out, trying to get free from his trap. When Reese turns to look at her new partner in crime, she watches as the wife had crept up behind Selene and grabbed her by the head. Using her new grip to bash Selene's head off the cement wall, and as Reese was about to lunge at her to save her friend. A hand came crashing on her throat and threw her up against the wall, it was the husband.

The force was so strong, Reese felt dizzy from the impact and next thing she knew—she was being punched across the face. As she fell to the floor, she managed to glance over once more and catch the sight of unconscious Selene being dragged away. That was seconds before everything else went dark.

"Reese? Reese, wake up. Are you okay?" Selene whisper shouted, just as Reese was starting to come back from unconsciousness. Reese tried to move her arms, attempting to rub to her head from the pain in it—but found that her hands were tied to the arms of a chair.

"I think so," Reese replied, coming to her senses again as she realized that Selene and her were back to back. Both of them now tied up in the kitchen, those baked goods moved out of the way and now replaced with all sorts of knives and torture tools. "Turns out they aren't running a bed and breakfast, they're Mr and Mrs pagan god."

Selene laughs, but not a real one, just one that knew they had really gotten themselves in a sticky situation. Selene relied, "That was my second guess."
