CHAPTER TWO ; GOOD VAMPIRES?
season 2 episode 3
———"SELENE? SELENE, ARE YOU OKAY?" Sam's voice sounded faint to her ears, her head bobbed up and down as she was slowly regaining her strength. It helped that whatever room they were in now was dark, making it easier for her to adjust to the light, "Can you hear me?"
"Loud and clear." Selene slurs out, her eyes finally coming into focus. Noticing that they are in a house, it looks old and used, what her cabin looked like when she first moved in. Then, she looked down at herself, finally cluing in that she was tied to a chair at the ankle and wrist. When she looked over at Sam, so was he, "Well, shit."
Sam's head turns from her, and looks up at another woman who Selene just now noticed. She had pale skin with long black silky hair, she was slim and tall. Selene's vision was still so blurry that for a second—only a second, Selene thought she was looking at her mother. A wave of unexpected fear washing over her, just thinking about
"My name's Lenora, I'm not going to hurt you. We just need to talk." The woman introduces, breaking Selene from her delusion.
"Hurt us? Look at her head!" Sam shouts, making Selene's ears ring briefly as she flinches from the pain.
"I'm sorry about her, that was an accident. She'll be okay, I promise." Lenora reassured, Sam once again looking at Selene who was partly out of it and yet still trying so hard to stay focus.
Selene's eyes drifted to a reflection of herself across the room. That's when she was able to see that she had blood trickling down her forehead, it was smeared across her cheek from the hood that they had placed over her head.
"Why would we wanna talk to you? You kidnapped us." Selene asked, looking away from her reflection and instead looking up at Lenora. Selene didn't like seeing the blood on her face, and by the looks of the other vampire around them, neither did they.
Sam joins in by saying, "Yeah, no offence, but you're not the first vampire I've met."
"We're not like the others," Lenora claims, "We don't kill humans and we don't drink their blood. We haven't for a long time. Notice how you two are still alive."
Although Selene had a hard time believing the claims of Lenora, she couldn't deny that she has heard rumours about harmless vampires. When she heard this, she thought it was crazy, she still does. When Selene looked over at Sam, she could see the same doubt on his face.
But Lenora was set on convincing them, telling them that the dead cattle in the area are because that's the blood they drink instead of human. All so that the hunters don't come looking for them, and that part Selene could understand perfectly. It's why her family isolated them, so that Selene could be hidden from hunters. The vampires are going extinct, they don't want any reason for hunters to kill them—another thing Selene understands a little about, she hasn't found another true bone witch no matter how hard she's tried.
"We're leaving this town. Tonight." Lenora informs them, and that's when Selene noticed the packed luggage around the room.
"Then why'd you bring us here?" Sam asks, glancing over at Selene one more time noticing how distant she looked. Her head swayed slightly, meaning she wasn't feeling so great.
Selene blinks a few times processing what was said, despite her slightly blurry vision she was able to partake in the conversation, "Why go through all the trouble of kidnapping us just to talk?"
