The Boy Who Protected

Prologue

May 5th 1980, a boy is born as the sun rises, this boy is Kaden Remus Barnes, the parents are Rose and Grant Barnes. The Barnes family is the second most noble family in wizarding Britain, right behind the Black family. The Barnes family is known for having witches and wizards that can perform and see ancient magic in their bloodline. At the same time as Kaden's birth, a prophecy is being made about the newborn boy by a Hogwarts professor to Albus Dumbledore. The prophecy that will define this boys life is as follows;

A boy born as the sun rises on the fifth day of the fifth month will possess magic the dark lords will know not and will protect a boy born at the end of July unknowingly and will defy the dark lords thrice before their return to power. The boy will be marked by his sacrifice and protection.

This is how the prophecy of the boy who protected was made and was not heard by Severus Snape, so the dark lords Voldemort & Medusa do not know of this boy and the fate that awaits them at this boys hands. The prophecy about Harry Potter has yet to be made but, Dumbledore has to act quickly to make sure this boy survives what is to come.

Once Harry Potter is born and the prophecy of The Chosen One is made, Dumbledore sends the Potter family and the Barnes family into hiding in Godric's Hollow. The two families live across the street from one another and would routinely get together so Harry and Kaden can spend time with one another. James and Lily are Kaden's Godparents, while Sirius Black and Rose Barnes are Harry's Godparents. The Barnes' and the Potter's are stuck in hiding due to the threat of Voldemort and his twin sister Medusa. That is until that fateful Halloween night in 1981...

On the night of Halloween 1981 Rose and Grant Barnes left Kaden with the Potter's so they can sneak out and check up on Peter Pettigrew along with Sirius Black and his one year old daughter. No one knew that Pettigrew sold out the Potter's to the Dark Lords and that he has been a spy for over a year. Pettigrew was waiting in the shadows of Godric's Hollow until the Barnes family left the Potter Residence to call the Dark Lords Voldemort and Medusa to his location.

When Voldemort and Medusa arrived, they were able to enter the Potter household since their secret keeper sold them out to save his own skin. When James realized that the dark lords were there, he shouted to Lily.

"Take the boys and go Lily. I will hold them off."

James had forgotten his wand on the couch but by some miracle it flew into his hand which he did not know the source of until he glanced back at Kaden smiling and laughing to himself and realized that Kaden has used wandless magic. James, now with his wand waited for the dark lords to enter the home while Lily fled with the boys upstairs to Harry's nursery. James put up a valiant effort but the power of both Voldemort and Medusa proved too much for James and he dropped after being hit with two killing curses.

Medusa and Voldemort cackled to themselves as they made their way upstairs to the room where Lily and they boys were. Voldemort tired to bargain with Lily but she would not give up either boy, having enough of the inconvenience, Voldemort killed Lily potter with a simple incantation of.

Avada Kedavra.

Lily potter died protecting her son and godson, unknowingly protecting both boys from what is about to come.

Once Lily hit the floor in the room, Kaden moved in front of Harry who was crying to protect him, the dark lords laughed manically at this as they thought the baby would protect the other. Both Medusa and Voldemort casted the killing curse at the boy who in turn raised his hands to attempt to block Harry from the curse. What happened next shocked Voldemort and Medusa to the core. The curses were being held as the streams of the curse hit the Kaden's hands and repelling them from not only himself but Harry as well. Voldemort and Medusa could not believe what they were seeing but pressed on not believing that a silly baby could stop their collective reign.

Kaden, after repelling the curses for a good few minutes starts to feel dizzy and feels something running down his nose and into his mouth. He tastes his own blood, the metallic taste is instantly recognizable. Kaden starts to feel weak and Harry had moved out from behind Kaden to right behind his left hand where Voldemort's curse was. Kaden could no longer hold the curses back and the curses hit both Harry and Kaden, but the curse Voldemort sent hits Harry and rebounds back at him and hits Voldemort. Voldemort's soul latches onto Harry creating the horcrux Voldemort never meant to create in the shape of a lightning bolt scar on Harry's forehead. Medusa's curse hits Kaden in the chest and rebounds back at her just like her brother's curse, after the curse hits her, a part of her soul latches onto Kaden also creating the horcrux she never meant to create.

Kaden's vision starts to get fuzzy and the amount of magic and energy he used is bearing down on the small boy. Kaden loses consciousness and does not wake up until the next morning.

While all of that was going on, Rose, Grant, Sirius, and Sirius' one year old daughter are checking up on Peter Pettigrew... Or so they thought. Once they arrived at Pettigrew's hideout they see that it hasn't been touched and all of the blood drains from the three adults faces once they realize what Pettigrew has just done. Sirius hands his daughter over to the Barnes' and goes off to find Peter to question him on what he has just done. Rose and Grant rush back to their home in Godrics Hollow to check up on their baby as well as the Potter's.

When the Barnes' get to the Potter home, they see it is in ruins, they enter and see James lying on the ground and they start to cry as they make their way through the house and upstairs. Once they reach Harry's nursery, they are met with the sight of Lily lying in front of Harry's crib with two sets of black robes on either side of her body. Rose and Grant look into the crib that belonged to Harry to a sight that broke them completely, it was their son Kaden lying there not moving and Harry was nowhere to be seen. Grant picked up his son to hold him one last time but to his surprise, he wasn't cold, his body was warm and when he put his ear to the boys check he started to cry happy tears. Kaden was still alive.

The next morning after a sleepless night for the Barnes family, well except for Kaden and Sirius' daughter. The husband and wife heard that Sirius was arrested for the 'murder' of Pettigrew and twelve muggles, Sirius was sent to Azkaban without saying goodbye to his daughter. The Barnes family now thought it would be a good time to leave Godrics Hollow and move to a nice suburb in London, the suburb of Hampstead. They scouted the muggle area and found a nice home next to a lovely family, that being the Granger's.

The Barnes' decided it would be best for Sirius' daughter Naomi to grow up away from magic and from the rumors of her father, so on the first night in their new home, they quietly put Naomi on the front steps of the Granger home with a note much like Dumbledore did for Harry Potter at his aunt and uncles. Naomi would grow up knowing the love of a mum and dad as well as the love of a sister. Rose and Grant would continue to watch over Naomi while raising Kaden. Eventually, Kaden, Hermione, and Naomi would grow up while becoming best friends before Hogwarts.
