Kaden POV:

A few weeks later we were all sitting at the Gryffindor table in the great hall having breakfast. Today was the first quidditch match between Gryffindor and Slytherin, I had to admit it will be weird not being apart of the first match of the year after having been apart of them every year prior except for first year. As we were sitting and eating Dean and Seamus came by and wished Ron and Harry luck, this somehow made Ron more nervous. I looked up from my plate and saw the Slytherin table laugh at Ron for his helmet and McLaggen scoff at us then glaring daggers at me. I turned my head and saw Ron was twirling his food around on his fork which was odd because Ron usually never stopped eating.

"Ron, you feeling ok mate?" I asked.

"Yeah Ron, usually you'd be on your second plate by now." Naomi said from next to Harry.

"Please don't tell me you're nervous about playing Slytherin?" Bella asked as her and Ginny sat down and started to fill up their plates.

Ron ignored all of us to ask a question of his own.

"So, how was it?" He asked grumpily.

"How was what?" Hermione asked.

"Your dinner party." He said to us in a mocking tone.

"Not as fun as you would think, mate." I said.

"You know Slughorn is having a Christmas party before the holidays, and we're meant to bring someone..." Hermione started.

'Is she making her move!?' I heard Naomi ask me.

'I have no idea, we'll have to watch this scene unfold.' I responded.

"So who are you going to be taking?" Ron asked. "I'm assuming you'll be taking McLaggen."

"Actually, I was going to ask you." Hermione admitted.

'OH MY GOD!' I heard both Aurora and Naomi this time.

'Will you both calm down.'

'NO!'

I rolled my eyes and turned my attention back to the conversation.

"Really? Me?" Ron said surprised.

"Yes, you. I wanted all of us to be together for this." Hermione said.

Before Ron could say anything else, a voice cut into the conversation.

"Good luck today Ron." Lavender said shyly. "I know you'll be brilliant."

Ron smiled weakly before Lavender walked off to go sit with the Patil twins. I noticed Hermione was gripping her fork and knife tightly.

"'Mione, breathe." I said gently taking the fork and knife from her.

"I'm resigning." Ron said abruptly. "After the match today McLaggen can have my spot."

"Fat chance Ron." Ginny said.

"Just suck it up and play." Naomi said.

"Have it your way." Harry said sliding a goblet over to Ron. "Juice?"

Harry was acting incredibly strange but it seemed like he was trying to help Ron with his... Luck today. I looked at Harry and saw he had the liquid luck in his hand but the wax seal was still on it.

"You're lucky you aren't playing me today, Potter." I said giving him a look. "What do you mean, Kaden?" Hermione asked confused.

Ron took the goblet and Luna came over and sat down. She was wearing a homemade lions hat and looked at all of us.
