Kaden POV:

Christmas Eve came around which meant it was the day of the Yule Ball. I was both excited and nervous about the event, excited because I get to spend it with Aurora and our friends and nervous because we would be starting the ball with a dance and I didn't want to bugger it up and embarrass myself.

This morning, I woke up to a bundle of brunette hair laying across my chest making me smile. I gently kissed her head before I carefully got out of bed doing my best not to wake her up and made my way to the bathroom to shower and wash up. When I exited the bathroom, Aurora was awake and playing with Sky and Phantom.

"Good morning Love." I said moving over to her and giving her a quick kiss.

"Do you know what today is?" I asked her.

"Hmmm I think you'll have to remind me." She said with a giant smile.

I smiled as well before I kissed her again. "Today is the Yule Ball, darling."

"Do you have your suit picked out?" She asked me.

"I do, mum and dad sent mine and Harry's last week. Do you have your dress sorted?" I asked.

"I do, you're gonna love it pretty boy." She replied with a smirk.

I heard Aurora's stomach growl making both of us laugh.

"Go wash up, I'll take Sky to hunt a little and we'll meet you in the great hall." I told her.

Sky jumped onto my shoulder so we could leave the common room. We made it to the forest so we could train a bit and so she could hunt. When she was done hunting we worked on controlling her fire when she was full sized as well as her flying. She was doing a good job and was getting better with everything.

We exited the forest with her in my pocket so she wouldn't be seen. We got unlucky when the Beauxbaton girls were leaving their carriage at the same time to go to the great hall. Bella had walked up to me and started talking at me but I ignored it. She tried taking my arm and my hand but I would move further away from her.

Sky could tell I was uncomfortable and wanted to help.

'Dad, do you want me to set her robes on fire?'

'No Sky, that won't be necessary. She needs to back off before your mum catches her and does something drastic.'

'I'll help mum teach her a lesson.'

'Thank you Sky, but we can't risk you being seen right now at least not until we feel comfortable with people knowing who I am.'

'Okay dad, but if she tries to come between you and mum I'm burning her hair.'

This caused me to chuckle which I guess made Bella think I was laughing at something she said.

"You know, you can still go to the ball with me tonight." She said pushing some of her hair behind her ear.

"I'll pass. I already have a date." I told her.

"Who, the girl you always hang around? The short brunette that doesn't compare to me?" She said with major attitude.

"You'll just have to wait and see, Dupont. One last thing, if you ever insult Aurora again you can say goodbye to your hair." I said before walking off and to the great hall on my own.

I was very angry with the way she was talking about Aurora. Why can't she see that I'm happy with Aurora and not interested in her even in the slightest? I sat down angrily by myself and started to fill my plate with food. A couple minutes later, the girls and Harry joined me.
