Kaden POV:

I was ever so peacefully woken up by a slap to the face. I open my eyes startled to see Phantom sitting on my check giving me a pointed look.

"Was that really necessary?" I whispered to her. I look out the window and see that the sun is just starting to rise.

"Let me guess, you're hungry?" I asked. She meowed in return letting me know she is hungry. I got out of bed and decided to get ready for the day so I fed Phantom and went to the bathroom to wash up and get changed for the day. Once I exit my dorm, I head upstairs to the common room with a couple books in my hand since classes are starting today and Transfiguration is first.

(A/N. I'm keeping both trio's together so I don't have to write different chapters for class purposes. Although flying will still be Gryffindor's and Slytherin's, and Ravenclaw's with the Hufflepuffs.)

When I got to the common room, I saw that I was the only one awake so far. So I picked a couch by the fire and started to re-read the transfiguration book. A half hour later, Phantom sauntered up to me and laid in my lap like she didn't wake me up at the crack of dawn.

"You are something else you know that?" I told her. She ignored me and decided to go back to sleep. 'Must be nice to go back to sleep, drama queen.' I thought to myself.

About an hour later I was joined by someone else, someone with brunette hair with blonde ends.

"Morning Aurora." I said as she approached me.

"What's got you up so early this morning?" She asked as she took a seat next to me.

"This little ray of sunshine sleeping on my lap. She was hungry so she decided to wake me up by slapping me." I answered her question while point to the little grey ball of fur peacefully sleeping.

Aurora laughed at my statement which caused me to chuckle while slightly going red in the face because her laugh is very cute. 'Wait pump the brakes K, you just met her. No need to go there with any of that. We are still too young and hardly know each other.' I scolded myself for thinking that.

"What are you reading?" She asked me out of curiosity.

"The transfiguration book since it's our first lesson today." I responded

"D-do you w-want to read it together? Since mine is still in my dorm?" She asked while stuttering and going pink in the face.

"S-sure why n-not. We can share the book." I told her while also stuttering.

Aurora scooted closer to me so we can read together. Phantom had woken up at the movement on the couch and hopped over to Aurora's lap.

"Good morning to you too sweet girl." She said to the little devil. "Good job waking him up." She whispered but I could still hear it.

"Oi! Why does everyone find it amusing that I get hit!?" I asked the girl.

She shrugged in response and replied nonchalantly "It's funny."

"So happy to know that my pain brings joy to others." I retorted sarcastically.

We read for around an hour before more people started to fill the common room and we decided to go down for breakfast. Aurora got up and went to get her books and to get Naomi up because she was still sleeping.

After Aurora came back with Naomi in tow, we headed down to the great hall for breakfast. When we got there we saw Hermione sitting by herself reading a book.

"Hey, let's sit with Hermione, she looks like she can use some company." I asked the other two who both agreed.

"Morning 'Mione." the three of us greeted the bushy haired brunette as we were sitting down to eat.
