The Third Task

Kaden POV:

The third task was quickly approaching and I was training harder than ever with the professors, Dylan and Claire. I was currently in my room training with Dumbledore as the other professors watched us duel. I knew Dumbledore was holding back quite a bit but it was still nice to see him and I in a stalemate. We stopped the duel after about thirty minutes, I was covered in sweat from trying to keep up with him.

"Well done Kaden, well done." Dumbledore said.

"Thank you sir." I said taking a drink of my water.

"Kaden, you are progressing faster than any of us anticipated." Dylan said.

"I agree Dylan, which is why next year we will have someone special help with your training." Claire added on.

"Really?" I asked. "Who's this special someone?"

"You'll have to wait and see, Kaden." Claire said smiling.

"I believe next year you should also start training with the sword. It will be a great help." Dylan said.

"Agreed." Everyone else said.

We wrapped up the training lesson and I met up with the other five in the library as they were all helping Harry prepare for the third task. I walked up behind Aurora and leaned over the top of her head so I was looking at her upside down.

"Hello princess." I said pecking her lips.

"Hi handsome." She replied with a smile.

I took a seat next to her and opened a book and started to read on what the third task might be.

"What do you two think the third task will be?" Ron asked excited.

"Not a clue." Harry said not looking up from his book.

"It's going to have to be something fantastic though, to compare with the first and second tasks. Not to mention this is the final one." Ron said.

"I still have a bad feeling about this." Naomi said with a worried look on her face and getting closer to Harry. "Someone wants Harry and Kaden in this tournament for a reason and it unsettles me."

"I'm right there with you, Mi-Mi." Aurora said hugging my side. "It has to be Voldemort and Medusa, they are the only ones who would want to get rid of both Harry and Kaden."

"You're not the only one who thinks that, darling. Why do you think I've been training so much since the second task. Dumbledore, Dylan, and Claire want me prepared for anything even if it is Voldemort and Medusa." I said.

"Surely the ministry is doing something about it, right?" Hermione asked.

"Nope, Fudge is in denial about the whole thing. He thinks the goblet chose us because we were worthy to be in the tournament." I replied.

"He can't really be that thick can he?" Naomi asked.

"He is. Which will make this an uphill battle when Tom and Mary do return to power." I explained with a sigh.

We all shared a look of concern about the whole situation and the possibility of Harry and I facing Voldemort and Medusa again. We were pulled out of our own thoughts when McGonagall entered the library and came over to our table.

"Potter, Barnes." She said. "You are to go down to the quidditch pitch tonight at nine o'clock. Mr. Bagman will be there to tell you about the third task."

"Thank you, professor." Harry and I said.

"Kaden, a word please?" She asked and I nodded.

I got up and followed McGonagall out of the library and to a quiet part of the castle.
