Aurora POV:

The month had turned to December and McGonagall had us Ravenclaw's and Gryffindor's gathered together in  an empty classroom for some announcement.

"The Yule Ball has been a tradition of the Triwizard Tournament since its inception." McGonagall started. "On Christmas Eve, we and our guests gather in the Great Hall for a well-mannered frivolity. As representatives of the host school, I expect each and every one of you to put your best foot forward, and I mean this literally because the Yule Ball is first and foremost... A dance."

I heard some of the boys groan at this but I looked to Kaden and saw he was looking at me with a smirk. We winked at each other and turned our attention back to McGonagall.

"Silence boys. The houses of Godric Gryffindor and Rowena Ravenclaw have commanded respect of the wizarding word for nearly ten centuries." McGonagall continued. "I will not have you in the course of a single evening besmirching those names by behaving like a babbling, bumbling, band of baboons!"

I saw Fred and George try repeating that but couldn't causing me to giggle to myself.

"Now to dance is to let the body breathe." McGonagall said. "Inside every girl, a secret swan slumbers, longing to burst forth and take flight. Inside every boy, a lordly lion prepares to prance. Mr. Weasley! Will you join me?"

"Me?" Ron asked pointing to himself.

"Yes, now hurry up."

We watched Ron slowly made his way over to McGonagall. Once he did, she got him ready to dance. "Now place your right hand on my waist." She directed.

"Where?" He asked shocked.

"My waist." She replied annoyed. "Now bend your arm, Mr. Filch?" She asked as he put on some music.

"One two three, one two three, one two three."

I looked to my left to see Hermione and Naomi laughing then looked across to see Harry, Kaden, and the twins laughing.

"We aren't going to let him forget this, are we?" Naomi asked us.

"Never." Hermione and I replied.

"Everyone come together!" McGonagall said as all of us girls stood up and a couple of the boys did as well. I saw Kaden drag Harry to his feet. "Boys on your feet!"

I made my over to Kaden as Hermione was standing in front of Neville and Naomi in front of Harry.

I looked at Kaden and we both smiled at one another.

"Hello princess, may I have this dance?" He asked with a bow and extending his hand.

"You may my prince." I said with a laugh making the two girls on either side of me aw at us.

"Naomi, I don't know how to tell you, but I don't know how to dance." Harry said embarrassed.

"It's alright Harry, when I was younger I took dance lessons with Kaden so just follow my lead." Naomi replied as they started to dance with Naomi leading.

"You learned how to dance with Naomi?" I asked as we started to dance.

"I did. She wanted to take lessons with her sister but Hermione wanted to study so I told her I would take the lessons with her. Good to see now that those lessons will pay off." He said as we began to Waltz with him leading.

We were dancing in perfect sync with one another, we continued to dance as the world seemed to fade away and it was just Kaden and I that remained. Our eyes stayed locked onto one another as we let the rhythm of the music guide our feet. In this moment, it was just Kaden and I, no deadly tournament, no dark lords that want to take away the boy I love, no stress of classes. It was just Kaden Barnes and Aurora Sharp dancing like we were made to dance together. We stopped dancing when the music stopped and everyone in the classroom started clapping, we were confused but we kept looking into each others eyes with wide smiles on our faces. The people who were clapping the loudest were the twins, McGonagall, Harry, Hermione, and Naomi.
