Grant POV:
The night after the attack at the Burrow Rose and I were getting ready for bed. Kaden hasn't said a word to either of us since we returned. He's practically locked himself in his room and hasn't come out yet. I couldn't stop thinking about how Rose and I reacted when we heard about what happened during the first task.
"Your thoughts are very loud, honey." Rose said snapping me out of them
"Sorry dear, just... Thinking." I finished with a sigh.
"I know, it's ok." She said.
"Do you think we reacted the right way?"
"I don't know Grant, but we are his parents and we just want him to be safe."
"I know, but Aurora was already upset with him and I'm afraid we added onto it."
"Well, when you put it like that it does seem rather harsh of us."
"I'll talk to him in the morning." I said getting into bed next to Rose.
I woke up in the middle of the night and looked over to the clock on the bedside table and saw it was two in the morning. Feeling parched, I walked down to the kitchen and got myself a glass of water. After I finished my water, I was heading back up to Rose and I's room when I heard soft cries coming from Kaden's room. I quietly opened the door and what I saw completely shattered my heart.
Kaden was sleeping on the floor with a single blanket and the cries were coming from a nightmare. I quietly went over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder and this caused him to wake up and sit up at the same time. He was breathing heavily and sweating quite a bit.
"Kaden, are you alright?" I asked crouching down in font of him.
Kaden shook his head and threw his arms around me and started to quietly sob.
"You want to tell me what the nightmare was about?"
When he calmed down enough he started to speak.
"It um... It was Voldemort and Medusa. They had me tied up and killed you, mum, Tulip, Harry, everyone right in front of me. I um I forced myself to wake up before they could kill her."
"Who Kaden?"
"Aurora." He said quietly with a broken voice. "I couldn't watch her die, not again."
"What do you mean Kaden?" I asked concerned.
"The chamber of secrets, Mary was draining her life and taking it for herself." He said looking at his hands. "That's what my boggart is, her laying in that chamber all alone and there's nothing I can do to save her."
Before I could say anything he asked me a question.
"I really messed up things with her, haven't I?"
"Why do you think that?"
