Hybrid Hatched and Hogsmeade

Kaden POV:

The month of September seemed to fly by and today was the day my hybrid was going to hatch. The five of us just finished our lesson with Dumbledore, Dylan, and Claire when I decided to ask them.

"Hey, do you guys want to come see the hybrid hatch? It should be happening soon."

"Yes!" They all responded with.

We all went back to the Ravenclaw common room and to my room to see the egg hatch. When we got there, the egg was shaking the others were just as intrigued as I was.

Pieces of the egg started to fly off as the egg was cracking, we could start to see the creature start to make it's way out of the egg. I slowly approached the the egg before crouching down, just as I did, the egg exploded into pieces and curled up was the baby hybrid. A perfect mix between a phoenix and wolf. I gently picked her up into my arms as I turned to the others.

The wolf hybrid slowly opened her eyes and looked at me before cuddling more in my arms. The others stood up and watched us with smiles on their faces.

"Oh my God, she's so cute!" Aurora exclaimed as she came up to me and the newly hatched hybrid.

"Can I hold it?" She asked me.

"Yeah, just be careful." I told her as I gently handed her to Aurora.

"Hi little one, welcome to the chaos group. You have the best dad, you're going to love him. I know I do." Aurora said quietly but we all heard her as the others looked at me and gave me knowing looks. I rolled my eyes in response.

"Do you think I could hold her, Aurora?" Naomi asked her.

"Sure, just be careful." Aurora said passing the hybrid cub to Naomi.

"She's gonna need a name Kaden, have you thought of one yet?" Hermione asked me as she watched her sister hold the cub.

"I have. May I take her for a second, Naomi?" I asked her as Naomi passed her to me. "How do you like the name Skylar?" I asked my new pet as she let out a little howl then lucked my face.

"I think she likes it, KK." Naomi said as I passed her back to the girl gently.

"I think it's perfect, mate." Harry said with a smile.

We spent more time holding Skylar before Hermione, Harry, and Naomi left. Aurora stayed as she was still holding Skylar. I looked at her in awe as she was so good with her, I couldn't help but smile at how good she was with her and how receptive Skylar was to Aurora.

"I think she really likes you, 'Rora." I told her as I cleaned up after Skylar had ate.

"She's perfect, Kaden. You're so lucky." She said as Skylar snuggled closer to her as she was sleeping.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, you get this super rare creature all to yourself."

"That's not true, she's just as much yours as she is mine."

"What do you mean?"

"While you two were bonding I could hear her thoughts. She thinks of you as a mother, Aurora. Whether you like it or not, we're in this together." I said as I laid down next to her.

"I wouldn't have it any other way." She said as she laid her head on my chest.

"You're staying here tonight, aren't you?" I asked as she closed her eyes and nodded in response.

"well, goodnight then 'Rora."

"Goodnight KK."

Two weeks after Skylar was born, we were in the forest training as she was now full sized meaning she can shift, shrink, and grow as needed. She was doing a good job of growing, shrinking and shifting from wolf to phoenix and back to her hybrid state.
