Kaden POV:

I woke up in a cold sweat again, I had a nightmare again the same nightmare I would have since I was a baby. It was never clear and always ended when a green light hit me. I sighed to myself and rolled over to check the time and it was eight in the morning. I then realized what day it was and jumped out of bed to get ready for the day.

When I entered the bathroom to shower, I took my shirt off and noticed the shield shaped scar on my chest, right over my heart. I've had the scar for as long as I can remember, every time I ask my parents about it, they brush it off and tell me it's not a big deal and not to worry about it. I put it out of my head and clean myself and get dressed for the day.

Today was my birthday, my eleventh birthday to be exact and I was excited to see what my parents and I would do since they took the day off from work to spend it with me. I make my way downstairs to the kitchen and greet my parents "Morning mum, morning dad." I took my seat at the kitchen table while mum and dad were preparing breakfast. When they turned around to greet me, they had the biggest smiles I had seen them with.

"Good morning sweetheart, happy birthday" mum said. Dad followed up with "Morning kiddo, happy birthday." They came up and each gave me a hug, one I returned to both of them. They placed something down in front of me, something that had a wax seal on it with a H within the seal.

I carefully open the letter and read it aloud:

HOGWARTS SCHOOL of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY

Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore

(Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand Sorc., Chf. Warlock, Supreme Mugwump, International confed. of Wizards)

Dear Mr. Barnes,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment. Term begins 1 September 1991. We await your owl by no later than 31 July 1991.

Yours Sincerely,

Minerva McGonagall

Deputy Headmistress

I finished reading the letter and was incredibly confused and my parents must have noticed that because they told me that I am a wizard and they both are as well. They pulled out their wands and performed some basic magic and to say I was stunned would be an understatement.

Mum and dad went on to explain how she is the daughter of the second oldest and second most noble family in wizarding Britain. They explained how when they got married, dad took her name so they can keep with the Barnes family heirship. Dad is what wizards call a muggleborn meaning he had no parents with magic. Mum explained that she is what wizards call "Pureblood."

I asked the question that had been on my mind since they explained everything; "Does this mean that I'm like royalty in the wizarding world?" I asked while raising an eyebrow.

"No darling you are not royalty but most witches and wizards will treat you with respect when you tell them your name." Mum responded after laughing.

"Where are we going to get everything? I don't think we have all of the items listed lying around the house." I asked

"Next weekend we will take you to Diagon Alley to get everything" Dad told me excitedly.

After that mum and dad gave me the gifts they bought for me for my birthday. Mum got me a collection of books I've been wanting. Dad had given me a watch that belonged to his father and said it was a family heirloom.
