Muyeol could swear that the clock had not moved at all since he'd been sitting staring at it.

It was shit... he'd tried thinking of another way to describe his current predicament but he couldn't think of a better word to use.

He needed to get changed for the wedding so there was a small part of him that hoped that the clock hadn't moved because he could've missed the wedding?

That wasn't a serious possibility because P.J would definitely have called him by now to see why he wasn't at the marina?

When he thinks that his relationship with Jin was sailing through untroubled waters, they hit a whirlpool. It was like a whirlpool in the Bermuda triangle last night though and it meant that he slept alone.

The day went like any other. They didn't live a complex life, the world of a highly sought after model and a photographer was hectic enough that outside of work, they enjoyed very simple, quiet pleasures. They weren't as old or boring as P.J and Namjoon who took 'quiet and simple' to the extreme but they did like some peace when they were home. They didn't have specific cups for every occasion but they did enjoy their own personal coffee preference accompanied with an equally personal preference of alcohol.

Muyeol had a lot on his hands and he surprised himself when he sat back and realised that he was enjoying running Xposure. He'd avoided a 'job' his whole life really, purposely avoiding the family business so that he didn't have to be tied down to a career. He loved photography and that was what he was born to do he was convinced of that. The world of freelance gave him opportunities that he probably wouldn't get if he was working for a company. Muyeol could travel wherever he wanted and see where he ended up. He always had his camera and if luck was on his side he could quite easily be in the right place at the right time. He could sell his pictures to whoever he wanted, allow spontaneity to lead him from job to job or spend the day at a technology conference checking out the latest photography equipment.

Working freelance gave him the idea of not conforming to the style of the wealth his family possessed. People didn't know what to make of the man dressed in designer clobber head to toe, climbing out of a sports car wanting to take pictures. That was an image that confused people, he realised soon enough that he was offered more work when he looked like he was still in high school and had just rolled out of bed. Muyeol was interested in people's perceptions and judgements and then he started to work more closely with celebrities, sportsmen and models, those were interesting fields to work in and around. People had opinions, positive or negative but they had them. Behind the camera, no one cared that he was there, listening to everything being said around him. When dressed like he was homeless, no one wanted to have an in-depth conversation with him, they simply accepted that he was there to do a job. He had the thought, once, that it was like he was invisible and the more he thought about it, the more he enjoyed the concept.

That's how he got to know the Seokjin that others didn't see. The person behind the defences erected to deflect the negativity spewed about him. Muyeol heard the rumours, the gossip, the whispers, jealousy and envy that surrounded the model. Sometimes it was of his own making, his reputation often preceded him, but underneath it all, there was the man that Muyeol was drawn to.

That man was damaged but he tried hard. He was facing his demons while juggling a career that was a heavy burden and learning to navigate a relationship at the same time. Muyeol understood all of that but it wasn't easy to handle.

Running Xposure actually worked in Muyeol's favour. It was a routine, a new challenge every day whilst being surrounded with the same people. His job at Xposure was grounding in a way that freelance wasn't and he found that the changes suited him.
