Chapter 278 - Disturbing

Soo-Im returned to the Hilton branded hotel after her fact finding day. It was only a couple of days until the wedding on Euphoria and she needed to get her bearings and know who people were. She'd seen photos, she'd met Kyong a few times, she'd seen Han-Shik from afar or when he walked past her (he never hung around) and she'd looked through the Vogue editions. It was quite an easy task to search up 'Kim Taehyung' on Naver and since their union, it was easy enough to search for Jungkook, too. The information was there but people look different in person so she'd been out and about.

"Did you catch up with your friend?" Nuri asks as Soo-im takes a gold coloured, shiny seat and sits on the opposite side of the four person square table.

"I did. She has been watching the preparations for the wedding. She told me that the marina has been quite busy where the yacht is moored... it's quite an impressive vessel." She says, picking up a menu.

"What do you expect from Kim Taehyung? The man bathes in money... I didn't ever think that my own son would be taken in by wealth but I was wrong." Nuri puts down her menu and starts looking through her handbag.

"Don't upset yourself! It's not only one son taken in by wealth. You could argue that all three have been, now that they have all stopped calling you since they inherited everything from Ryan?" Soo-im couldn't believe how sons could cut off their mother, literally within hours of the meeting about the will. She'd seen how happy her friend was every time the boys phoned her, which was the only reason she allowed the interruptions to her lunch dates with Nuri.

"That's true... all of them have stopped calling me... maybe they're busy with the companies they are now running? I've tried visiting Han-Shik at Yang corp but he's always busy... Emi won't take my calls and she isn't attending her appointments... her family aren't any help...?"

"Do you think they are covering for them? That would surprise me. You've always had a good relationship with them."

"Emi's mother said they'd spoken to her and all was well and then they wished me a happy new year. She told me that their daughter was always independent and got on with her life and the business was keeping her busy."

"Is that true? As long as you have known Emi?"

"Yes. That is why I was very shocked when she came to me and asked for my help to conceive. She was the daughter that I never had."

"When we get to the wedding, we should try to catch Emi alone? I think that would be a good idea. My friend can get us into the marina."

"Jungkook would be better spoken to alone, too. I do not trust that fake husband of his and I'm sure that the Kim matriarch would have thrown money at Jara and got herself an invite! My youngest boy, now a man and they've taken him from me. It was bad enough when Jara got her hooks into Kyong. That boy deserved someone of much better stature."

Soo-im orders for them both before she turns her attention back to her friend. "It's those two little boys that deserved better genes. Imagine what they could accomplish if Kyong had listened to you and married Yoon-Ju's girl?"

"Well, exactly! Kyong missed out there. She is now married to the mayor's Grandson."

Soo-im sighs, "I'm surprised that Kyong and Han-Shik forgave their brother so easily. Do you think there was a lot more going on that you didn't know about?"

"It's possible, isn't it? Ryan was obviously up to a lot of secret things... I still can't quite believe it. I was a good wife to that man. He'd had his heart broken when I first met him and he told me that I rescued him and restored his faith in love."

"It does make you wonder what he was up to every time he treated you to a spa weekend? We had a few sporadic breaks in the last year, didn't we?"

"That's true. I will drive myself crazy if I try to piece it all together, I don't know how long he was plotting and planning? I've even questioned if he was behind Jungkook leaving?"
