"I hope Tae really does love me." Jungkook puffs as they run through the doors that open automatically and just in time.

"He does." Ash responds, narrowly avoiding a small child wandering from her family who are putting their luggage on a trolley, in a little world of their own.

"Enough to pay the fine I'll get because I abandoned my car?" Jungkook giggles breathlessly. He has to find it amusing. He didn't have time to park properly and he's had to consider that the fine could be more money than he could spare. He thinks of all the times he's refused his husband's money and it makes him cringe and laugh inwardly.

"I don't... I don't know where she is!" Ash howls as they halt to look up at the big illuminated board.

"What airport is she flying to?"

"Umm... JFK?"

"Ash! Is that a 'definitely, JFK' or a 'maybe, JFK'??"

"Maybe? I'm the worst boyfriend ever!" He despairs.

"For fuck's sake, pull yourself together! There's a flight there that is boarding soon so we'll try that first... why didn't you bring her to the airport?" Jungkook thought that at the very least, Ash would have been the one to drop her off but they'd been in the apartment packing all afternoon so he knew that he hadn't been anywhere and that was confirmed when Emery text him.

"Because I was packing?"

"The real reason... not the bullshit one."

"I couldn't handle saying goodbye because I'd have probably cried and looked like an idiot."

"Don't ever moan at me for being a dick again because you are currently the biggest dick!"

"Ssshhh, don't tell everyone that I've got the biggest dick." Ash says. He needs to find some kind of humour because he really has behaved like a massive idiot. There were still no guarantees that Heeju would thank him for turning up or even whether they'll make it in time but he has to try. He wonders if she will understand? Will she stay because she feels obliged to? There would be nothing worse than resentment, however it came.

"Shit!" Jungkook spits as they are stopped at passport control.

"You can't come through." The man tells them.

"But we have to... he needs to stop his girlfriend from leaving!"

The man shakes his head, "This is an airport, sir, not a movie set."

"Can you put out an announcement? Ask her to come here?" Jungkook's temperature is rising as time ticks by.

"Even if we did that, she can't come back this way. Have you tried calling her?"

"Oh my god! Of course we have... she's not picking up."

"Maybe she doesn't want you to stop her?" The man suggests.

Ash is getting annoyed with the man but he can see how stressed his best friend is. "Maybe she doesn't but I would rather hear her say that... not you!"

"There must be a way!!" Jungkook exclaims. "Oh, fucking great!" He mutters.

"Jungkook?" A man approaches in a navy blue suit, pastel pink, his blue and pink striped tie fastened with a diamonte tie pin that glints under the blare of airport lighting. He strides with purpose from the very entrance that the duo were being prevented from going through.

"Who's that?" Ash whispers.

"Is that you, Jungkook? I'm sure it is."

"Gi-Hun, nice to see you again." Jungkook says, not meaning a word of it. He doesn't really have anything rational against the man and unlike Asnee, Gi-Hun hasn't ever given him a reason to dislike him. He was courteous at Neverland and didn't look at Taehyung like they had anything other than a history of friendship. Gi-Hun didn't come off as bitter or jealous or bothered that he was at Taehyung's wedding... which could not be said about Asnee who always came across like an arsehole.
