Thembekile
"Delivery for Mrs Zondo."
A man says outside my door step. Junior opened the door and said it was for me and he went back inside the house.
"I am Mrs Zondo."
I say with a smile plastered on my face. Finally my present is here. Mthiyane is such a darling.
"Please sign here."
He says while giving me a clipboard. I sign where he told me to and I give it back to him.
"Thank you mam, enjoy your day!"
He tells me and he stretches out his hand while handing me a small gift bag. The smallest you can find now I wonder what it is.
"Thanks."
I say while shutting the door and heading back inside.
My smile has disappeared totally.
"And then Thembekile the smile is gone."
Junior says while looking at me with a smirk on his face.
"Mxm Junior leave me alone."
I tell him. This boy does not respect me at all eversince his teenage days I was no longer Aunty Thembi but Thembekile to him as if we are mates.
"Open it let's see."
He says to me. I open the gift bag and oh my I find an envelope inside and when I open the envelope. I find small piece of paper inside and it is a picture of me when I was working by the taxi rank.
Mxm gone are those days.
"Woooo look at someone, one would not even recognise the difference."
Junior says while snatching the picture from me and he turns it around.
"From the first day I noticed you I knew you were the one.
-Mthiyane"Junior reads out loud. Nxa!
Mthiyane is annoying me honestly it has been a whole damn week and I have been waitimg for my car but nothing so I decided to be an angel and be patient and wait but he keeps on sending these little meaningless gifts.
"Mmm go daddy."
Junior says while bursting into fits of laughter.
Yesterday I was so sure it was gonna be car keys the guy was delivering instead it was grilled fish. I was not even interested in the fish so I gave it to Junior of which he gladly accepted with a neutral face.
"Get lost Junior argh!"
I shout at him and he laughs louder, I think it's because yesterday I told him that I was expecting a car from his father of which was due to me but he laughed when we saw that it was food that was being delivered and not car keys.
"Poor dad who had to marry a money sucking sponge like you."
Junior says to me while walking up the stairs.
"Uthini kimi wena mfana?"
[What are you saying to me boy?]I say to him and he laughs at me while going up the stairs.
Mxm!
Foolish boy. When it comes to the kids I swear all of the children including my daughter are far from marriage.
As for the Zondo sons all they know how to do is to sleep with each and every skirt that is available. My daughter on the other hand is another problem on it's own. She is a workaholic, I have no idea what is going on in her life in terms of romance. She rarely vists me but she sends me money once in a while and calls me from time to time. She is in Cape Town all thanks to Mthiyane.
I do not want to hear any judgement whatsoever. I had to ensure that my daughter gains from this wealthy family after all her father is a sore loser who is poverty-stricken.
Money sucking sponge.
Like really of all things a money sucking sponge.
Just great.
Junior is really rude. Mxm even his father is taking me for a ride.
I SAID A CAR! I WANT A NEW CAR! BRAND NEW STRAIGHT FROM THE DEWLERSHIP.
The man does the opposite. He must think we are high school sweethearts. I said I want a car because I know very well that he can afford one instead the guy goes and buys food and now a picture from back then when Junior was still saying the colour "Red" is "Led".
The guy owns 3 car dealership and has an auto repair garage next to one of the dealerships. I am so fustrated right now. I miss my sister right now. She is like thee best advisor for situations like this. I know you are not supposed to air your dirty laundry out there to everyone neither should you share your marital problems to the public but Velile is no public and she definetly is not everyone.
I wish I can be her she is living the perfect life. It is just that she would not say it because she has children in her marriage, has a great husband although he is pretty much in and out of Umbumbulu due to work but they love each other and right now she owns one of the latest Audi's and I am here in a white Hyundai i20 when my man is a car dealership owner.
I wish my husband could act like Veli's husband sometimes. I am just annoyed right now. Mthiyane knows just how to ruin my mood these days.
Velile never complains about how her family is troubling her like I do. The problem is that she treats her last born like a baby but other than that her husband is fine. I am proud of Ndamase though, my brother-in-law. He can afford to take care of his wife's needs unlike me here I have to ask and then keep pushing before I get what I want from this man of mine.
Nxa! So called husband!!
I need some rest because I deal with a lot.
