Avuyile

My husband came back last night and it is now morning. It is now morning and I have asked Sizakele to cover for me. Sizakele Mhlongo  is the maid that works with me at work. I am the nanny and she takes care of the house when she is not in I take Sthandiwe with me.

I must invite her for sunday lunch along with her family so I can see the famous Njomane that is thee husband of the year. I haven't met her husband and I know she has a son who is Mhlongo junior. She is a kind woman and I can tell that she is from a kind family and the things her husband does for her are really romantic.

When I ivite them just maybe Mdunge can pick up a thing about how to treat a woman from her husband. I have sacrificed alot for him the least he can do is meet me halfway.

I think now is the time to talk to him. He is only going back to work next week.

"Mdunge!"

I shout from the bedroom.

"Lounge!"

He shouts back to me. I walk to the lounge and take a seat across him on the single seater couch. I have already done my hygiene process but uMdunge is still in pyjamas watching soccer highlights.

Bathong we haven't even had breakfast.

"Mdunge."
I sigh heavily just after saying that, he looks at me.

"Nkosikazi awukakenzi nesidlo sasekuseni usufuna sikhulume."
[My wife you haven't even prepared breakfast and you want us to talk.]

He says to me.

"I know but I need us to talk and I have to get to work."

I need to inform him about Sthandiwe and he seems to not even notice she is not here but then again she is forever distincing herself from us as her parents, always locking herself inside her room. It is so not healthy.

"It's always work for you. Work this, work that..."

I quickly jump in before he even turns it on me.

"The same work that provides for us. Listen MaNgubo was here yesterday and she said things are not looking good for us."

The MaNgubo part seems to catch his attention because he immediately switched the television off.

"MaNgubo said that?"

He questions me.

"Yes."

I respond to his question.

"Woah now what?"

He asks with all eyes on me as if I must come with the answers to the problem that he caused.

"I don't know okay! I am not the man here."

"Uthini?"

I roll my eyes at him because he seems to forget that he was jobless when we met. I made him the way he is right now. I got him a job he even married me. I hot myself a job as well all thanks to MaNgubo.

I sacrificed my womb twice so we can live a normal life. My 2 sons were never meant to live for more than 20 years and he benefited from all this. I payed his debt with that Mhlongo thug in kind because I had no R500 000 in cash and now that Mhlongo was after me all because I gave myself to him for this husband of mine.

"Avuyile! Ngikhuluma nawe wena ungikweqela amehlo mina."
[Avuyile! I'm talking to you and you are rolling your eyes at me.]

"Mdunge please!"

I say putting my left hand out in front of me to stop him from even attempting to come close to me although he is still sitting down.

"Mxm!"
