It has been a few minutes since I heard voices in the lounge and I am hiding here in the kitchen.
The kitchen which is so plain and simple absolutely no corner or cupboard to hide from apart the stove because everything else is mounted on the wall. I want to know what is happening back out there but the fear I have is not helping matters at all. Oh how I miss my old life where I lived freely without having to constantly look over my shoulder for an enemy that may be out to get me.
I breathe in and out while slowly walking towards the kitchen door and as I am hiding here and trying to get a glimpse of what is happening without being seen of course. My wandering eyes land on a man who looks like he is in his early 50s if I must say but I can only see his back. I immediately step away from where I was standing. I don't know the man but there is only one man that this family has been expecting and it is Mr Ndamase so I guess it is him.
This man has been the reason why I am being hidden in that room. Speaking about that room my gosh it is the most dustiest room in that house. Yes I clean the house but never that room because it has been locked and I never wanted to ask why. Mrs Ndamase or Velile I should say has been getting calls and texts and the woman has been ignoring them. I wonder what is going on and if only I could get a hold of that cellphone because it could be my ticket of getting out of here.
The name Velile I heard it from Cebo when he was talking to his mother that her name is Velile. I am just sitting and waiting for a signal from someone. It is a bit cold in here after all the weather was a bit chilly today and I am sitting here wearing a green wrap dress of which I was given by Velile and it is short sleeved with white flowers. The dress is a bit below the knee and I am wearing my flops. I decide to sit on the bare floor because if I sit on this chair it will make a noise after all it is an aluminium chair so can you imagine the scraping sound on the cold tile. It will make a noise which will put me in danger of being seen.

It has been a while and Mrs Ndamase came here four times to order me around first it was to set a bowl of warm water and soap as well as a dish cloth while she was standing here watching me move around and guess what she then took it to her husband. She did say it was her husband who is back and that I must not make a sound while I am here but she will come back and tell me to go to the bedroom when the coast is clear. She was even whispering which means that this man means business if she was even scared to talk with her normal voice.
The second time she came back was to get me to dish up for her man then I had to wash the dishes while she was standing and watching me like a hawk. You know it is nice to do something when you like too but when you are ordered to do so it is no longer fun and working while under supervision makes ir worse. She then left when I was done and said she will be back.
I switched the light off because it was the instruction that I was given by the madam of the house and so the waiting began, I waited and waited for her to come and decided to sit comfortably on the cold tiled floor. I waited and waited now my eyes felt heavy and as for the cold I guess my body had already absorbed it in because I was just numb. I decided to close my eyes for just a little. The little must have been a lot because I don't even remember when I slept but I was roughly woken up by a tall figure.
I am still sleepy as it is and I woke up to see a not so friendly face which belongs to Velile.
"Just get up it's 5am."
She says while going to switch the light on which causes me to close my eyes because I have not adjusted to the light as I was sitting in the dark for so long.
I try to stand and my body is so sore. The body is now showing that it was in an uncomfortable position for so long.
"Usahleli phansi ntombazane?"
[You are still sitting down girly?]
Velile questions me while opening the cupboard and taking out pots and pans.
I stand up slowly.
"Go and look for my phone on the couch and take it upstairs Cebo has my charger I want to charge it."
She says while busy pacing up and down her kitchen. I am just standing in the same spot she woke up from. I then put on my flops properly.
"Okay Mrs. Ndamase."
I say while starting to walk properly.
"Don't make a noise with those cheap flops of yours please Mandlakhe is sleeping peacefully."
I stop and remove them from my feet.
"Go and charge it in the bedroom you are sleeping in and I need you to shower and wake Cebo up then you come back downstairs with him."
She says while tying her gown on properly.
"Yes mam."
I say to her and leave to go to the living room. My body feels off I could do with some proper rest. I get to the living room and the couch she was sitting on last night the phone is there. I take the phone and I head to the stairs to go to Cebo's room but then an idea pops up in my head...
