Khushi slowly opened her eyes. The dim light in the room was still making her feel drowsy but she wanted to get up now. It felt as if she had been asleep for a while, like a good, long dreamless slumber!

Wanting to stretch her arms when she tried to move, that's when she noticed different things connected to her. The intracap for injecting medicines and fluids into her weak body, the pulse monitor, oxygen mask kept beside her...she frowned at it, wondering why she was here.

And then suddenly her mind was cleared of the haze that was so densely spread there and she remembered everything. The fateful day, she and her mom had gone to Agra for her friend's engagement, her papa was at home as he had his lectures to deliver, their car suddenly steered off the road and then that accident, and the last thing she had memory of was her mom covering her to protect her.

She was starting to panic when her papa walked in, pure happiness visible on his face.

"Khushi!!! My princess!!! You are finally awake!" Shashank wasn't able to contain his exhilaration and delight over finally having his daughter, his sole reason to be alive, finally wake up and show the light of life in her eyes!

And that was the scene which Dr. Arnav saw when he entered Khushi's room.

Khushi's eyes first landed on Arnav and soon a recognition dawned in them.

Arnav sat beside her, and he let his hand touch her hand so carefully as if she were made of cotton and would fly away if he touched her even with little force.

Khushi was watching his actions with apprehension. She couldn't believe she was seeing him after 5-6 years. He was her senior in medical college, he was doing his final year when she joined the first year in that medical college where her father was the dean! Arnav was well-known amongst juniors, and he was elected as the best outgoing student as well. Khushi had always admired him but had never had courage to speak with him...

And now she was seeing him, looking at her with a watery smile and she automatically smiled as well.

"Khushi, this is Dr. Arnav. He is the one who was treating you when I couldn't." Dr. Shashank Gupta informed his daughter, "He is the one who saved your life." he further said in an emotional tone.

And Khushi slowly grasped that information.

She was in a hospital. Arnav was her doctor. But wait, why was she here?
