My eyes open slowly, and I find myself staring up at a familiar ceiling.
Then my gaze darts around the room, finally settling on one individual. I carefully sit up on the bed when realizing that I'm not alone but I'm not being accompanied by my sister either. Instead, a very handsome man sits across the bed on a chair. His lovely eyes are fixed on me, and a faint smile is on his lips that are starting to look very kissable to me.
"How long have I been asleep?" My patients are one of the first things that come to mind along with Orion.
"Only a few hours." He speaks as I see my bag at the foot of the bed.
I'm about to reach over to take it, but Silas stops me. He picks it up and comes around the bed to give it to me. I then watch as he takes a seat on the edge of the bed next to me.
His lovely scent reaches me with the small distance between us and it immediately takes effect, clouding my mind and senses. I attempt to ignore it as I reach into my bag for my phone. I turn it on to check for any messages or calls from the hospital but thankfully there aren't many. It's just Yaretzi informing me that my schedule for the following week is full.
"Are you feeling alright?" Silas draws my attention to him instantly.
I try not to look at him and I play it off by putting my phone back in the bag.
"I'm fine." I respond, still not looking at him.
What he makes me feel by simply being in my presence isn't normal. He's very tempting and I must not get close to him in any way. I know myself enough to know he can easily get me to desperately want him.
When I attempt to get off the bed, Silas gently takes a hold of my arm to stop me. That causes me to glance back at him. My eyes follow his hand that he quickly removes. Then I turn to face him again and he gives me a small smile.
"You need to be careful." The words softly leave his lips.
"Where's Lucia?" I ask, going back to standing up from the bed. I then take my bag and put it over my shoulder.
"Her and Ace are in the living room having tea." Silas stands coming around the bed toward me.
"I'm going home." I state, a yawn accidentally leaving me.
"I'll take you." He immediately offers without any hesitation.
"No, I can go by myself." I speak as he gently takes my bag away from me and puts it over his shoulder.
"It's late and your car isn't here. Ace had someone take it to your house. Let me take you." He insists giving me the feeling that he won't let me go alone.
"Fine." I walk out the door and he follows behind me.
For a second I think I see him smile but I'm not sure. It might be the drugs messing with my brain.
