I'm at my parents' home. Visiting my father in particular.
He called yesterday to inform me he had some things to tell me. I only came because I am sure it's about Kane and I need any information on him that I can get. He's been trying to kidnap me, but he hasn't sent any more letters. All I know at the moment is that he wants me, but I don't know if he knows of Orion. I've been wondering if his mother has told him that I have a son who coincidentally physically resembles him in a way.
"There are my babies." Mama opens the door with a huge, warm and welcoming smile on her face.
She gives me and Orion big tights hugs with a kiss to the cheek. My son and I both smile at the love and warmth she gives us.
"Come in, it's a bit cold out here." She urges, widening the door.
Orion and I enter, taking our jackets off because of how warm it is in here. We hang the jackets on the coat hanger before mama takes us to the living room. There we are immediately brought some tea by our grandmother who also receives us with a warm welcome.
"Is my father home?" I ask my mother after a few minutes of conversing and Orion eating cookies.
"He is. He's working in his study." She seems a bit surprised with me asking.
"I'm going to go see him quickly. I'll be back." I place my mug down on the coffee table.
Mama only gives me a warm smile and a slight nod as I leave. I give the wooden door of the study a knock before entering. Papa looks up from some documents on his desk and puts his pen down. I only take a seat across from him wanting to get straight to the point.
"What did you find out about Kane and his family?" I instantly ask, not wasting another second.
"Good evening to you too, daughter." He sarcastically responds, getting comfortable in his chair.
I stay quiet waiting for him to talk.
"The whole family is permanently staying here again. They're done running from Kian's debts." He begins with the information.
"I recently met up with them." His words make me feel a bit uneasy. Without thinking I start to play with the fabric of my blouse from the nerves I suddenly get.
"I saw Kane." That makes me fist my hands.
"What happened? Did they say or mention anything?" My chest is starting to become heavy, and I think my lungs may be closing in.
My father observes me and lightly sighs. "Calm down." He demands, being calm himself.
"Kian and Caroline only talked about themselves and tried to do business with me but horribly failed. There is no way I am trusting those idiots." His eyes harden a bit at the thought.
"Kane did ask about you." He then informs me.
"He wouldn't stop asking questions about you. It's like he wanted me to catch him up on your whole life the time he has been gone." He doesn't seem to like that either.
