Last night Silas messaged me.
I didn't know whether to tell him about Kane, but I think that I will have to tell him to stop the hit that I asked him to put on Kane. It won't really be necessary anymore. Though I want him dead, I don't want my son to go through the pain of losing his father now that he will be in his life.
I wasn't in the mood for anything last night, so I didn't respond to Silas. I needed some time by myself to process all that is happening.
Early in the morning I received a call from an unregistered number. It was Kane. He asked if I had talked with Orion, and after I said that I did, he asked to meet today.
We've just arrived at the observatory since he wanted to meet at a place that Orion really loved. The whole drive here I contemplated about driving off as far as the car would go. I held back and just decided to get this over with. Kane wouldn't let me get far probably.
Orion and I walk in the direction of the observatory's entrance. Anxiety runs through every bone in my body as my hand fiddles with the gold watch on my wrist. It's the one Silas got me. I find it to be very comfortable because it reminds of him. It makes me feel like he is with me.
The moment we enter the place, I spot Kane. I glance over at Orion who looks at me. He gives me a small smile that puts me a bit more at ease. He takes a sudden hold of my hand and then I lead him toward his father. Kane notices us right away. There is a smile on his face when he looks at me and then it grows when he looks at my son. There is a terrible feeling in my stomach but there is no turning back now.
Kane stands in front of us. I suppress a sigh as he and Orion exchange glances. Orion gently let's go of my hand.
"Orion this is your father, Kane." I introduce them, crossing my arms as I stare at the man.
Kane's eyes slightly tear up which is something I've never seen happen. His smile is broad and sincere, and he has gentle eyes. He opens his arms up to Orion who returns the smile.
"Give your father a hug, son."
Orion doesn't hesitate to hug him. For a moment, I believe that this could work out. Seeing how happy they look nearly makes me feel guilty. The way they hug each other tightly with swelled up eyes makes me feel some sort of way.
I stand there letting them have their moment. When Orion pulls back Kane takes a hold of his face. He examines every part of it as if to memorize it and then he gives him a kiss on the forehead.
"You don't know how happy and excited I was when I found out I had a son." Kane looks into his eyes.
"Forgive me for all these years that I've been gone from your life, Orion." He pleads with his eyes.
"It's okay. You're here now." My son responds with a pretty smile.
Kane chuckles, his eyes still watery. "I'm here now and I promise that I'm not going anywhere."
