I texted Cata a few days ago. She responded with no interest.
Instead of assuming the worst, I chose to think that she was only occupied with work. I then chose to give her space, but I haven't heard from her since.
Now I'm at her door with more hydrangeas and an Italian dessert that my parents made for her and Orion. I hope there is an explanation and that it's not that she is uninterested after our date because I personally thought it went incredibly well.
I ring the doorbell and a few moments after the door opens. Catalina, looking as beautiful as ever, gives me a gorgeous smile. She appears happy to see me and that makes me feel better.
"Good evening, dolcezza." I see the way she likes it when I call her that.
She's probably clueless about it but when I call her sweet there is a sparkle in her eyes. It's fucking beautiful and I love that she tells on herself about it without even realizing it.
"Silas, what a surprise. Come in." She allows me to enter her home.
"I missed you, Cata." I hand her the flowers that she gently takes.
"Thank you. They're beautiful."
"Not as beautiful as you." I can't help myself.
She smiles. "Orion and I were about to have dinner. Join us."
"I'd love to." I don't hesitate to accept.
She leads the way to the dining room where Orion is already eating. A bright smile takes over his face when seeing me. He stands from his seat and gives me a side hug and then a fist bump. Catalina goes to put the flowers in a vase.
"How are you?" I ask Orion.
"Good and you?" He returns the question as he takes his eat once more.
"I'm great especially now that I've seen your mother. Looking at her really gets me in a good mood." I admit as Cata walks back into the room.
She becomes flustered and pretends as if she didn't hear me. Orion chuckles.
"She is very pretty, isn't she?" He gives me a wink as he takes a sip of his drink.
"She's the most beautiful woman that has ever existed." I agree with him, and he smiles bigger as Cata stays completely emotionless.
"Guess what happened?" Orion all of a sudden asks me with an excited expression.
"What?" I want to know what's got him all happy and Catalina so tense all of a sudden. Something happened in the two days I didn't see them.
"I finally met my dad."
My heart drops for some reason.
I glance at Catalina, but she avoids looking at me. I feel something weird. I don't know what it is, but I don't like it. I don't like what Orion just said.
