The past week has been exhausting physically, mentally, and emotionally.

My days and evenings at work have been hectic. There were a couple losses with some patients which is something that always gets to me but this week it felt like too much. A woman had a miscarriage, another woman died, and a baby passed away too. It's been such a heavy and rough week. On top of that Kane and his family have been on my mind. I have the worst feeling about them.

I've taken the weekend off. Yesterday I completely relaxed and slept a lot. I also spent some time with Orion. After I helped him with a school project, he showed me how to play the soccer video game that Silas got him. He has been obsessed with it since the moment it was put in his hands.

He has a soccer match today, so I'm just waiting for him to get ready and come downstairs.

"Cat." Orion appears in front of me with his uniform, appearing to be ready.

I close the fridge when I am done putting cold water bottles and a few snacks in my purse for Orion to eat after his game.

"Can we invite Silas? He's never been to one of my games." Orion asks when I glance at him.

I might be to blame for the fact that we haven't seen him in a week. He has been calling and texting, but I haven't responded at all. I've been so busy that I've completely ghosted everyone including my family.

I don't even think about it when I simply hand him my phone. With a big smile on his precious face, he calls Silas. The sound of the man's voice has a weird effect on my body when he answers the phone. I think I relax and it's now that I realize how tense I've physically become the past seven days.

Silas ends up agreeing to meet us at the park after Orion tells him the location. Then we leave the house immediately so that Orion won't be late.

We arrive at the park at the same time as Silas. He has a bag on his shoulder and is carrying two portable chairs. There is huge happy smile on his face when he sees me and Orion. I see the way my son's face lights up at the sight of him as well.

"Good morning." He immediately says as Orion gives him a fist bump.

"Good morning." I'm so glad I'm wearing sunglasses because they hide the fact that I'm staring at him like he is heaven in human form.

"When is the game starting?" He asks as we make our way to the field they'll be playing at.

"Thirty minutes. I have to go warm up. I'll talk to you later." Orion excuses himself before running off.

I'm left alone with Silas, and I become nervous in his presence. I suddenly think about the conversation I had with Lucia, my grandmother, and mother. That's what makes it a little hard for me to have him alone.

"That's a good spot over there. There's shade and it's a good view." Silas speaks after a few moments of silence.

With no questions asked I go with him wherever he wants because I trust him.
