My nose is touched by the aroma of freshly baked pizza as soon as I open the oven.
I take the pizzas out placing them on the counter. It's the end of the week and I had today off. Orion asked me to make him pizza instead of buying it so that is what I did. I really enjoy having days off and experiencing what it's like to be a full-time mom. As much as I love my job, I think I like it more. It makes me wonder what my life would have been like if my father would have married me off. It's stupid to think about and I would have rather died than for it to have happened, but I just like to imagine it. I wonder what it would be like if Orion liked me.
"Cat." Orion who is doing homework, earns my attention as I find a pizza cutter.
"Can I invite Silas?" The hopeful look in his eyes makes it hard for me to tell him no.
"Right now?" I'm procrastinating saying yes.
"Yeah, he likes your cooking." He fights a smile, seeming very sure of himself.
"Yeah?" I question and he nods. "How do you know that?"
"Didn't you see the way he finished almost all the food on the table when we had breakfast? His face looked like he really liked it." He informs me.
I only hand him my phone in response and he calls Silas as I cut the burning hot pizzas. The man immediately accepts and that makes Orion very happy.
__
The doorbell rings and like the last time I open it, the gorgeous, tall man that has been haunting me, stands there with his eyes instantly fixated on me. He doesn't even hide the fact that he is undressing me with his stare.
"Good afternoon." I speak to get his attention.
Silas stares back at my face and gives me his signature smile which is a big smile that reaches his pretty eyes, and it displays his dimples. I hate that it makes him so much more attractive.
"Good afternoon." He very happily replies. Then, I notice the bag he is holding in his hand.
I widen the door, signaling for him to enter and he does. I don't know how I don't pass out every time I'm around him. His words from the last time we saw each other are still replaying in my brain. He said that he wanted to be with me which I already knew but he also admitted to wanting to be a father figure to Orion. Everything he said seemed very honest and that messed with my emotions and mind even more.
"Where is Orion?" He questions when not seeing him around.
"He is in the kitchen doing homework." I respond, heading that way and he follows closely behind.
At the sound of us entering, Orion looks back from the stool he is seated on and smiles. He stands from his seat and immediately gives Silas a hug from the side. They greet each other and I let that happen as I set plates on the kitchen island, and I take out a pitcher of strawberry lemonade that Orion also asked me to make.
