I'm staying longer at the hospital today.
I was supposed to go home about an hour ago, but I have a patient who is going to give birth at any moment tonight. I chose to stay and wait. Then I can go home and rest since I have a free day tomorrow.
I'm typing some information into the computer when someone bursts through the door of my office. I look over thinking it might be a nurse but not even they are so aggressive when they need me.
It's Benjamin. He looks like he is about to go home considering the backpack hanging off his shoulder. I give him a questioning look. He sighs walking further into my office to stand in front of my desk.
"I want to talk." He seems very serious. "About us."
"There is no us." I am confused.
He accepts that with a nod. "That man child that you seem so fond over is only going to hurt you."
Man child? "Who are you talking about?"
"The idiot who kicked me out of his restaurant for no reason. The same one who was casually lounging in here yesterday." Benjamin seems so angry about it.
"He isn't a man child." I feel the need to defend the said man child.
"The idiot doesn't take anything seriously and he is always smiling like a dumbass. He has an ego bigger than him." He is so close to shouting.
"He just has a happy personality. You should take some notes maybe then you'll get a girlfriend." I speak without thinking. I just am not liking the way he is talking about Silas.
My defensive behavior seems to anger him more.
"He threatened me to stay away from you." Something about the way he says it doesn't make me believe but even if Silas did threaten him, it wouldn't surprise me.
"What are you talking about?" I try to see if he will go on.
"He said he would hurt me if I didn't stay away from you." The way he says it again doesn't seem believable.
"He also said he would make me lose my job and that he would ruin my life." He goes to add on.
"He won't do anything." I nonchalantly reply.
"You don't know that." Benjamin stares at me like I'm crazy. "The guy looks like a psychopath."
If only he knew.
"He won't do anything." I repeat.
"Fine don't listen to me or believe me." He gives up. "Just don't come crying to me when he ruins your life."
"I don't plan to." I mutter.

It's my free day. I'm supposed to spend it relaxing and enjoying some time with my son.
