Silas is for the first time driving me absolutely crazy.

One moment he's begging me to be with him, the next he chooses to not want to be with me anymore, and then he comes back desperately begging me on his knees to be with him. I didn't understand him at first but then he explained himself and I stopped being so mad. I'm still a bit angry with how he reacted but now I don't know what to do or feel. I don't know if I can trust him fully.

What if he is playing some sort of sick game with me?

My phone rings from the counter behind me. I turn around to see my father calling so I pick up.

"Catalina." His voice sounds.

"Good afternoon." I respond, putting the box of cereal in the pantry.

"How have you and Orion been?" Something about the question seems off to me.

"Good." I don't think now is the time to mention Kane.

"I'm glad. I haven't seen either of you in a while so I wanted to check in." He explains.

"We're fine." I only say.

"Have you heard from Kane?" The question makes me feel a bit suspicious. He must know.

"I have." I don't say much.

"I'm a bit busy right now." I decide to end this phone call already.

"If that is all, I'll call you another time."

"Yeah..." He sounds hesitant. "Have a good evening."

The call ends and I set my phone down, taking the small bowl of cereal from the counter. I walk out into the garden where Orion decided to do his homework today. I set the bowl down beside him. It's the first time I'm letting him eat the cereal since a few weeks. I don't want him getting sick so sometimes I have him take some breaks from eating so much of it.

"Do you think Silas is sad?" Orion all of a sudden questions as I take a seat.

"No, why?" I become confused.

"Because he is in love with you, and you don't like him back." Where is he getting this from?

"He's not in love with me." I make that clear first. "And I do like him."

"Really?" He looks at me with a contagious smile.

I only nod, hating myself for admitting it.

"Then why don't you want to be with him? I think you should change your mind." His advice makes me slightly laugh.

"How would you feel if I said yes to him being my boyfriend?" I don't know why I'm suddenly considering it.

"I would like that." He assures, seeming happy at the thought. "Does Silas make you happy?"
