I don't know if she wants me or not

I don't know if she wants me or not. I'm getting mixed signals.

Her face is serious, and her eyes are emotionless. I can't tell what she is thinking but then she opens the pretty mouth of hers and I'm sure she must like me in some way.

I'm going to insist even more that she lets me take her on just a single date, but we're interrupted before I get to speak a word.

"I'm back. Hope you didn't miss me." Orion takes his seat again.

"We missed you very much." I assure as Catalina softly smiles when glancing at him.

"Good." He continues with his pizza.

"Cat, can he come to the observatory with us and then to the house to cut the cake?" He suddenly looks at his mother.

Catalina's smile slowly fades. She hides it with her bottle of water as she takes a sip. That is her excuse to keep quiet as she avoids staring at me or her son.

"Cat?" Orion stares at her to get her attention again.

She smiles but it's not the same smile as the other one she gave him. She then nods but still doesn't speak.

"Thank you." He smiles big before looking at me.

"Will you come with us?" He asks me with hope in his eyes. They're very similar to his mother's.

"Of course." I can't help accepting. There is just something about the kid that makes me say yes to everything.

I didn't get to converse with Catalina again after Orion came back to the table. She ended up getting distracted and taken away from me by guests.

I ended up playing with Orion and some of his friends. To be honest I had fun. It's surprising because that's the longest I've ever been around children. Back in Italy I'd sometimes play soccer with some boys but they're a bit older so it's not the same.

I take Catalina's coat and I hold it for her so that I can help her put it on. She doesn't say anything or even look at me. She just lets me put the coat on her and then ignores my complete existence. I find it hot because I'll gladly chase her if it means I'll have her in the end.

Orion's birthday at the bowling place has come to an end. Everyone either left or is about to leave. The kids seemed to have fun especially Orion which is very important. Now we're going to the observatory. It's now just me and the birthday boy and girl.

Orion puts his jacket on as we leave the place. He walks ahead of me and his mother. I make sure to walk close to Catalina while keeping an eye on Orion.

"Very romantic of us to go see the stars together." My eyes find Catalina who is walking beside me.

I swear that for a brief moment I see a small smile on her lips. Yet she doesn't look at me as her eyes are too occupied on her son.
