I wake suddenly, every thought in high definition. My eyes take in every ray of light and without a doubt in a ton of pain . " good morning Lavender" Inez says ash she sits down on the edge of the bed to my left . " doctor Micheals took care of your injuries, I'm so sorry this happened to you . Here honey take this pill it will help with the pain . We need to get you dressed for riding lessons with Timmothy"
" I don't think I can ride today Inez , it hurts too bad . " she looks at me with a look of pain on her face . " I need you to be very strong today , something is happening and I'm trying to save you . We need to get to the stables , we'll meet our friends there to discuss . First eat your breakfast you'll need your strength . "

I sit up , painfully forgetting about my broken ribs , a whimper of pain sneaks out of my mouth . Once I'm fully sat up I begin eating breakfast slowly . Inez walks into my closet grabbing an outfit I would wear for riding . I don't know what's happening, I hope it isn't bad . I'm not sure how much more I can take .
Is it too much to ask for a day of peace . A day I don't fear of being hurt or one of my friends being hurt if they try to help me. I wish I could wake up one day and this all had been a bad nightmare but no everyday I wake up and I'm still here . In pain , in fear and in constant worry .
I try my hardest to always be happy , to be grateful for the small things I do have that make me genuinely happy . I'm thankful for Inez , Nashie , Timo , Auggie and Jose . My only friends that don't have fur. I'm thankful for cloud and Willowby , my loyal companions that love me endlessly. I'm thankful for strawberries and brownies , when ever I get them to eat I get so happy.
I just want to feel safe . Is that really just too big of an ask . Should I let go of hope for a better future and just enjoy what little good things I do have . I don't know , but I wish I did . A few minutes after my deep thoughts I finished breakfast and Inez was helping me out of bed and getting dressed.
