54. Trust

The ball was decorated will all sorts of colors that resembled hell. The main hall had statures of devil on every side, and a stage for the band. The devil Haru was responsible for the music tonight. The buffet was overflowing with everything your heart desires, a dream come true for Noi and Shin. En even got a special menu just for him, all sort of dishes with mushrooms inside. Chidaruma still had me close to him, give me my own menu, "Let me know what you like." He made it his personal business to get me everything I want tonight, which means, he won't get off my backside.

The first dance was also reserved for the devil, standing really close to him on the dance floor.

En didn't like the way we stood so close, feeling annoyed to watch it. But he had to, the minute the song is over, the sorcerer gets his turn. At the same time, the bird man was in reach, which means for En to keep moving while looking. Shin and Noi gave it a try before they attack the buffet. The tall woman did her best, but to remember the steps was just too hard for her. Shin didn't mind it, since she can heal his impaled foot, with her high heels constantly stepping on his shoes. Ebisu and Fujita had it a lot easier, their dance wasn't even bad. Those two actually enjoyed their time together, Ebisu felt like a princess in his arms, with her dress and tiara on.

Aikawa, in his waiter uniform, also kept an eye on me.

Asu and Risu however, had to interrupt him for a moment, pulling him into the darkest corner there is. Aikawa wasn't pleased about that, "What is it now?"

Risu snapped, "What is? You idiot almost broke the spell!"

"Doesn't your magic last a few hours, I know."

"But not if you kiss her, it is a curse magic Aikawa. It forbids you to do what you deeply desire to keep up the spell."

The waiter shrugged, "You didn't say that before"

Risu got furious, "I told you five times, it is not my fault if you can't listen!"

"Whatever, I know now. Can I go?"

Asu stopped him, giving the man some advice, "One more thing. Keep your distance from Chidaruma. Your previous behavior was out of order. If you have to get near her, try to get permission for a dance."

"Dance? I can't dance!"

"That is your problem. Don't screw this up" that was Asu last words to Aikawa, before he left with Risu. Kaiman saw himself in the mirror again, as the entire wall reflected the hall, making it look bigger. He felt really strange with that head on his shoulders, wanting to get out of here as soon as possible. With a tray of champagne glasses, he came over to me and the devil. Chidaruma already changed his face, looking suspicious at Aikawa.

He however, ignored the tension, moving the tray towards me, "Champagne Miss?"

"Thank you"

I didn't even give him one look, just grabbed a glass and went back to see other sorcerers on the dance floor. Aikawa leaned over a little, whispering into my ear, "sorry for the kiss."

"Don't worry, all forgotten"

He needed another approach, "Kaiman wouldn't forget."

Kaiman? That got my attention, as our eyes looked at another. How does he know his name? Could it be?

"Waiter, the devils over there a thirsty" demanded Chidaruma, pointing towards them. Those devils were across the hall, far away from us. Aikawa had no choice but to obey, bowing slightly to me. Chidaruma chuckled slightly, holding me close, "he won't bother you again."

What????

Shocked, I had to see the waiter being dragged away through a door. Asu and Risu knew that this would happen, following them in silence. Risu knows that his friend is stupid, but not like this. The devils really wanted to make sure, that he will never set foot into the hall. For their own entertainment, they preferred to torture Aikawa, before they kill him. If it wasn't for his devil friends to stop them in time, he would be able to walk anymore. Naturally, Asu and Risu give them a few hits for his behavior. The two wanted to make sure that this time, he actually listened, "What did we just say?"

"Stay away from Chida...room? Ow!"

Risu raised his hand up, "Again!"

"Stay away from Chida...what's his face? OWWWWWW!!!"

"No wonder you failed in school!"

Asu didn't see any chance for the lizard man, "He is going to die Risu"

Aikawa just had enough, covering his head, "Stay away from that devil guy and try to dance with N/A!"

Risu sighted, "Now that you know, do it exactly like that, last chance Aikawa."

For the devils, they had to change his entire outfit, even making a mask as a disguise. The rules are only for his safety, but also for them not to get caught. Chidaruma may not forgive another betrayal. Asu got an idea on how to get closer to me, "Risu, are you a good dancer?"

He didn't like the sound of that, "Oh no, I am not dancing!"

"Come on, do it for Aikawa"

The devil stared at his old friend, "I hope you burn in hell." Aikawa knew that was Risu's way of saying: I do it.

"Thanks man"

"Don't ever...thank me for that."
