50. Happy family

Of course Kaiman didn't get the message. Fukuyama explained it all, but the lizard man remained stubborn.

"Kaiman, she made it very clear, she doesn't want to be saved."

"I don't give a damn what she wants!" The lizard man was felling unwell, sitting at a bench near Tanba's restaurant. Fukuyama joined him, looking at the stars, "Why didn't you write it?"

"What do you mean?"

"Why didn't you write boyfriend? I know you wanted to, what held you back?"

Kaiman sighted, "It doesn't matter"

Fukuyama didn't give up though, "You can tell me Kaiman" he promised not tell anyone.

The lizard man leaned back, watching the black house float in the air, "I don't want her to think I am a suck up."

"A suck up?"

He nodded, "My feelings aren't the only reason for rescuing her. Nikaido and everyone else she knows, they all want her back."

"And when are you going to tell her?"

Kaiman sighted out loud, "When we are back in Hole." He rather pushes his feelings aside, till we return to the place where it all started. Fukuyama gave him the advice to not wait too long, but it was up to the lizard man to decide. Kaiman however, was glad to tell someone how he feels, "Thank you, for listening." He knew, he can rely on Fukuyama. The lizard man stayed outside a while longer, as his friend went back to work. With a dreamy look, he watched the stars, "Why are you making things difficult N/A?"

"Says the right one, eh Kaiman?"

"Ahhhhhh Tanba!"

Of course, he is still working at the place and the owner knows how lazy he can be. With a right his on the head, Kaiman ran back into the restaurant, joining the staff. Even at nights the place had to get ready for the next day.

Meanwhile, I sat with En in a giant bathtub.

Out of respect, he turned his head away. Quickly I got in, dropping as low into the water, till only half of my head was looking over the surface. En didn't see a problem, showing of his chest with pride. No wonder, he even shown a lot more as he got in. At least he kept his distance, if not, my legs already prepared to keep him away. But that he watched me with such an intense stare, I had nothing against that. It was already embarrassing enough as it is.

"Why so shy?"

I frowned deeply, "It is a disgrace" The sorcerer demanded an explanation for what I said.

"A servant and her boss in the same bath, that is not right."

"What is right or not is up to me to decide. I find it rather pleasant, not to bathe alone."

To make use of the opportunity, I reached out for a small piece of cloth and rubbed my body underneath the water. En chuckled at that, "No need to hide yourself, I seen plenty of women before you." I refused it anyway, turning my back on him. In this position, I could reveal a little bit more of my shoulders, "I don't care. Can we get on with the schedule for tomorrow?"

"Ah yes, the clothes for the day will be send to the main room down the hall, get them first thing in the morning. Breakfast we shall east together, since you will be joining us, arrange this tonight. We leave the mansion at twelve, the coach is already been ordered. As for your dress..."

I didn't like the sound of that.

"...Chidaruma saw it as a pleasure to design one for you, although he could have removed a few details."

That was all for the day, but one thing I wanted to know, "...when are we leaving the ball?"

"For all I know..." I felt how the water began to move, "...it may take all night..." To feel his hands on m waist was uncalled for, as well as his head resting on my shoulder. Feeling his nosed travel up my neck, I felt scared. Out of reflex, I slammed the piece of cloth in his face, getting out go the bathtub, "Good night En." Now I know how he felt as Chota got too close.

I arranged the breakfast in the kitchen rather quick, before hiding in my own room, locking the door. I feared that I made a big mistake now. In bed, my body shivered really badly. Any moment, he could be at my door, punishing me for my behavior.

Knock Knock!

"N/A?"

Oh noooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! It won't help me, but I hid under my bed sheet, hearing him from the other side, "I know you are in there."

Afraid of the door being smashed open, I cried quietly.

"I didn't mean to startle you. Forget what happened."

Forget? Is he serious? Peeking from underneath the sheets, I saw his shadow under the door, "Breakfast starts at eight, don't be late." En left it like that, letting me sleep. But how can I? Tomorrow I have to face him again, what will he do next? The whole time, I assumed that a sorcerer like him is not interested in humans. The bathtub situation showed a different side of En, one I never expected to see. My guess is that he loves to play with me, like the entire devils do. Sleeping with worries only caused for my mind to create nightmares of all kind.

En was already in his bed chamber, dressing himself for once.

Before he went to bed, he stared out the window, while rubbing his hands. It was new to him that a woman refused his contact, even throwing a wet cloth in his face. Somehow, he finds it amusing but on the other hand, he doesn't understand his own motive. What did he just expected to happen? Did he truly believe that I would give myself over to him, just because I am a servant? The man in red knew, I got nothing to lose, but it cannot be the only thing in the way. But for tonight, enough happened, "We will see in the morning."

"I just thought the same thing En" giggled someone under the bed sheets, as the bird man's head came into view.

En immediately panicked, pressing himself against the wall, "OUT OF MY BED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
